j6p: Thanks for the props. Yeah, once I saw the webs I thought we were doomed. Somehow though, we managed to at least stave them off. The fans are stippled everywhere, which worries me that there are more of them there than I can possible find and kill, but I'm going to keep trying!

Seismic: Thanks for the well wishes!

feltonmuggs: Thanks for stopping in and wishing our garden a complete recovery.

Day 35 in flower, picture update!

Day 35 in flower, picture update!

Here we are, day 35 in flower and things are going VERY well, in my estimation. Sure, we still have some mites, but we're definitely winning that battle compared to 3 weeks ago; I now find only 4-5 to smash during my nightly checks. The ladies are definitely packing on the weight, as many of the plants are now leaning one way or the other (it happened fast too). I actually had to prop some of them up using just simple bamboo skewer sticks we had laying around (I didn't tie them to the plant stems, just propped them between branches and such). I really hope we don't have to tie them or support them in any more dramatic ways before harvest.

There is a bit of yellowing going on, but it's just a fan leaf here or there and it looks to me to be age appropriate. Since the last major haircut they got, I've only had to do the one-off's here and there. Overall they look really healthy and the trich's are starting to come on like mad on most of the plants (I think Wilma, the White Rhino, is the laggard of the bunch, but she's putting on a ton of new pistils so I can't complain).

We're starting to wish we had LST'd these bitches in some ways, but watching them grow as natural as possible has been a treat too. I love the structure of the Bubblicious girls; all spear-like and uniform branching. The White Widow is unique too. But the real winners I think are going to be the Royal Hawaiian's; they just look so steller in every way, though wilder than a uniform strain like The Pure from our last grow.

For a few weeks temps have been low (62-72 F) and the humidity high (35%-45%), but now things are starting to go the other way with temps a few degrees higher and humidity about 5% lower. Hopefully this doesn't give the mites a chance to bounce back. I watered today and took pictures so I didn't have time to spray, but I'll be spraying one last time tomorrow (and then nothing but water sprays, if that, until harvest). Hopefully that and my manual mite hunts are enough to pull everything through until harvest. Then it's disinfecting time!

Anyway, on to the pics. This time I took both whole plant shots and closeups of the top portion. I'll post just the closeups for now, just for variety. But if you all really want to see the whole plant shots let me know and I'll post them too.

If you ever have questions about anything, anything at all, please speak up. I sometimes just ramble on and probably don't hit all of the points you'd like me to.

#1cheesebuds: Danke! Appreciate the kind words.

teerull: I know, we've gotten real lucky considering what some others have to go through with the borg. Vigilance is key! But in these latest pics, you can see the damage and stippling they're doing to the fan leaves. Some feel as thin as paper. So they're taking a toll, for sure. How amazing might these girls look if they didn't have to fend off the borg, I wonder. Thanks for stopping in!

Wow, impressive.. your starting to get the hang of growing K.J!

That white rhino is looking mighty fine, good structure.. my friend just gave me a little "taste" of his WR and its some potent medical grade stuff for certain.

K+!
Great job

Aww, thanks! Every day is a learning experience in growing, I can only hope to improve with every new grow we do. Indeed the WR looks amazing, very interestingly structured compared to the others (though I did take off a few more branches on her than I did on the others, and she's leaning back a bit, so her structure is a bit a result of circumstances). But I've heard nothing but good about WR and its medical properties, so I'm excited about this one.

Just got done doing another neem spray. This is, I think, the last one we're doing. We figure we're about 3 weeks out on harvest (at least of the Bubblicious girls) and Iwe don't want the neem screwing anything up. The mites have had a small resurgence since the temps went up a bit and the humidity dropped; nothing major, but certainly I've had to kill more of them during my daily hunts. But still, considering how bad I've seen them in other grows, it sure is nice to at least have them under some control.

The ladies are still packing on the weight. It's getting difficult to maneuver them around for fear of breaking branches off. When they're not all stuffed in the cab, mutually supporting one another, and being supported by the walls, some of them really lean and droop because of the weight. It makes me wish I had a SCROG trellis to support them! So far I think we'll make it fine through this grow without breaking branches, but we're seriously considering a SCROG next time.

More and more yellowing is going on, particularly with the Bubblicious girls. It's obvious they're maturing faster and are nearing harvest; I'd say another 15-20 days for those two. Which will be nice, because we can harvest in parts, which means more room for the other girls still finishing up. That and it means more of our own medicine, sooner.

The wonderful aroma's these girls put off are so relaxing and calming. They really are quite a bit more pungent, as a group, than our last set of ladies were. I'd say 2x's as aromatic. The Bubblicious have a nice, sweet, not quite "fruity" smell to them. The WR hardly smells at all, beyond the foundation flowering cannabis smell (but she's maturing slower than the others, so I think her aroma will really perk up soon). And the RH's are harder to describe, so I won't try, but they have a nice aroma that's still coming on stronger every day.

The resins are piling on more and more. They already look like they'll have great aesthetic appeal once cured. We'll see! After putting them back in the cab, I have to do a lot of arranging so that one plant doesn't stress another too much, or block it too much, or push it over..that kind of thing...and my hands get a bit sticky by the time I'm done, even though I'm VERY gentle with them. A rather good sign, I say.

Hey there bandonlooper, thanks for joining us! I hope you have luck getting your harvest in without breaking branches. I'm having a tough time arranging them every time I move them so that they don't stress one another too much (branches being pulled back too far by its neighboring plant, etc.).

Watered with some molasses yesterday (and the watering prior). Decided to stop watering with LK every other water and use molasses every water from here until the last one (which will be just plain water). Looking good, smelling superb...mouth watering. Can't wait until harvest! Pics tomorrow!

Forgot to mention that I think we've won the mite battle this grow! I still find them here and there, but I think a combination of the neem sprays, dutiful mite hunting twice daily, low temps and high humidity for the past few weeks, and the "turning" of the leaves to fall time status has put the kibosh on them for the most part. We'll stay vigilant, but activity seems to have died down dramatically.

I also had to use some hemp twine to lasso one of the branches up (forgot which girl now). It was hanging so low and getting too heavy; it was starting to point towards the ground! I just made a really loose loop, almost like a sling, and it's all better. I might have to do this to Wilma (White Rhino) as well since she has a branch that's getting severely low. That's a good thing though, means they're packing on some weight!
