hell yeah net, how much do you have to flood those rockwool blocks and for how long? I use a lot of hydroton flood every 4 hrs lights on for 15 min each time. But Im looking for something different.

i started using this after netprophet's suggestion in one of my threads...
i'm using GH lucas formula instead of the veg+bloom with the hugos in ebb and flow buckets.. suppose and nute program would work great
the hugos fit perfect in the buckets which is awesome because this means NO HYDROTON!
i flood 3 times with the lights on for 30 min a piece...
I had a run in with hydro herpes in the beginning so my plants have yellow leaves however they have bounced back and are looking pretty awesome, i'll post pics tonight

I have been using DM Gold for over a year, and thought I was happy. That said, since i use RO water and shipping rates have gotten ridiculous, I have been looking for a quality dry mix for a couple years.
Thanks to NPs thread I started using V & B mid-grow in 2 separate systems. One is my DIY 21st Century F & D; the other is a DIY bubble system to finish a clone that was ~ 3/4 done, but not plumping up.
The buds in my F & D are exploding. This technique (using lava rock + Air Pots) allows me to flood as often as I want to push it. Currently one flood per 30 minutes during lights on; 1/60 lights off. Started using 640 and now 800 ppms.
Both are doing great, but the clone has really taken off. Lots of new pistils, and bud growth. YEAH!

thanks peeps! This run is looking sweetness across the board and I'm using like 10-20% less Veg+Bloom per reservoir change! I'm down to around 300g per 50 gal rezzy and they are loving it! I think I still might be over ferting a little at this rate too, maybe I should go to 275g per 50 gallons? Whatever the case they are still blowing up dynamite style!! can't wait to hit8 weeks cuz at 5-6 in they are looking smoookiinnggg!!!!

If I may:
I start with small net pots with Super Starter cube cut in half. At roughly 2nd leaf set, I insert into an Air Pot filled with lava rock; I flood once an hour from the top, until the plants are ~ 6", then feed every 30 minutes. I am now in mid-flower and just reduced to 20 minutes; these times during lights on (once an hour during lights off).
My tray has a bulkhead fitting in the bottom with tubing to return to the rez. The ~ 3g of nutes is fed from the top of each AP: the nutes completely drain back to rez in about 5 minutes. The lava rock holds a bit of moisture in all the crevices between feedings, in essence increasing the feeding time.
Growth and budding are explosive, even more-so now that net turned me on to Veg+ BLOOM

My experiment of switching from DM Gold to HR Vg + BLOOM is paying off already. I used a 4" magnifying glass to look closely at the flowering plants all 3 systems. Only the hpa is still getting DM Gold ONE Grow + Potash+.
Both systems getting V & B now have ~ 5% trics, whereas the hpa < 1%.
Now this could simply be a matter of not having added enough Potash+ to Gold ONE Grow. I didn't want to over do it, so I just bumped the 5g rez with another 6mls of Potash+, and may need to bump it again
Even if doing this jump starts the trics, V & B is so much easier all the way around.
