Keep It Simple

Ok, so I am back. Some of you may remember my PC grow from last year with JlMH4LPERT. This time I'm using the same case, but trying it a little differently.

This run is going to be an experiment on just how easy a small home grow can be. Before everybody starts yelling at me for what I'm using, just remember this is an experiment to see how cheap and easy we can make it.

So, what I'm going to be growing with is going to be the absolute basic Miracle Grow premix soil, yes with the time release fertilizer, with which the fert ratio is 21-7-14, so obviously I'm gonna have to throw some extra Phosphorus in at the flowering stage. The soil is also the basic 1/2 Pete Moss, 1/2 Vermiculite. This is the basic stuff you can pick up at any Walmart for $4 for a 10QT bag.

For Lighting its going to be 2-60watt (equivalent) CFLs, and 1-50watt HPS, also both available at any Walmart (HPS is an outdoor security light).

Being in the U.S. and unable to obtain any decent seeds, I'm once again going with bagseed, same bagseed I've gone with before which turned out well, so I'm going to have to just cross my fingers.

Here's a picture of what the previous one looked like at harvest:

and here is my 'grow room', an old PC server case:

and away we go:

Thoughts, tips, criticism all welcome, just keep in mind the main purpose, keep it simple.

Looking nice and clean Dwight, cant wait to see the HPS in the compcase back
in action, for now though those cfls are just what those babies need:joint:.

Good to see ya back, best of luck on at least one good female.

Well, bad news. As you'd expect from bagseed, germ rate isn't the best. Neither of the seeds made it; only one poked its head out but didn't make it past there. I'm germing another batch right now and will probably be planting more than one per pot just to get the ball rolling here... check back in a few days to see if this batch made it.

bud_me~ Thanks for stopping by, always good to see more micro growers out there. Definitely like the carbon scrubber you came up with; probably end up putting that to use when the time comes.

Ok so its been a little while but things are looking pretty good.
Three seeds ended up surviving, two of which are looking pretty good especially for only being about ten days old.

The temp in the case is my only real concern at this point. Outside temp has been in the 90s lately and I'm willing to bet its been breaking 100 in the case. Doesn't seem to be affected the plants though so for now I'm going to keep it simple and let it ride.

Nice dwight, when it comes to keeping it simple i cant see anything being easier
than that soil, glad to see things worked out. Got my fingers crossed for a fem :joint:.
For such high temps i think things are looking pretty good, but hopefully that
heat wave ends soon. Are you currently running the HPS for veg?

Be sure to check out my ShivaSkunk now 59 days goin into a 1 week flush tonite!:D
