Amazing! I didn't knew Katsu Bluebird was selling his own seeds too nowadays!! I still remember the Bubba Kush and Blowfish clones he shared many years ago!

Hey, just wanted to post some interesting variation I got from a pre 98 bk x og2. (sorry Ik its not from katsu). Anyways, IVe read that the bubba is usually quite dominate in crosses made with her, but I've found the the og totally dominated this cross (im still just in veg) OF 9 plants, 2 are bubba leaners and the remaining 7 lean heavy to the og. I was thinking this might be for a couple reasons. Maybe I just got a poor representation of the line, its also possible that the og2 is able to dominate the bubba because it is an og ibl. OR lastly, if bubba is indeed (og x nl (afghani) ) than the pre 98 x og2 is really a (og x nl (afghan) ) x og) so pretty much a 75% og cross, which is actually what I found in phenotypic distribution.
Heres a pic of og leaner alongside bubba leaner (sorry for lighting)

Yo katsu, do you use sts for your reversals? If so what recipe and spray schedule do you use?

I am fortunate to have received seed packs of both of those from someone directly in Katsu's circle. Man these guys had quite the crew back in the late 90's !

Looks great, how many days you at and will it be a good yield?

Thank you, I appreciate that.

This picture is from around day 40 of flowering.

It will be a good but not great yield, I believe. For the quality of the smoke, it will be more than average, I'd say.

Bubba's Sis at 50 Days

The smell is intoxicatingly offensive. It's a kush/chem blend with the chem dominating the funk. There is not the slightest bit of sweet to these. This plant stinks. Right up my alley!

At Day 50, I'm guessing I'll take her at 67-72 days.

Hi Katsu, I have a question to ask regarding 2 cuts I have ran both labeled Katsu, I was kinda wondering if you could perhaps shed light on to which cut is the one you passed around. I used to run Katsu or so I thought, and it was my favorite plant, best quality smoke i've ever seen in my life. Now I am aware quality is in the eye of the beholder so that is all I am stating, That for me it is the holy grail of cannabis and it gets no better....

Recently I re obtained what I thought was the Katsu I used to run. I just recently harvested and sampled it and in doing so I realized I have something different from what I used to have and run as Katsu after coming to the realization that what I have now isn't what I ran then. I am now curious which plant is the real Katsu cut which brings me here for answers.

Katsu A

A solid strong plant with excellent turgor pressure this thing will hold up the plant beside it. Solid from top to bottom and smells a bit like pre 98 bubba kush kinda coffee floral thing going on.

Katsu B

A floppy plant that grows well during veg but lacks turgor strength to support itself in the later weeks of flower, Smells of gas floral and candy notes. On inhale lights up your nasal cavity with a jet fuel note, and on exhale goes from honey like to pure candy and leaves the candy flavor in your mouth long after you puffed her.

Is Xanadu the Bandaid Haze cross?

Xanadu (Bandaid Haze #7 x Pre-98 Bubba Kush) – Bodhi’s Bandaid Haze (#7 pheno) crossed with a reversed Pre-98 Bubba Kush. Here is the Bandaid Haze backstory as told by DocGreenstone: “There were these seeds that came from this Spanish grower in South Holland, Ronni aka Ronaldo, who was part of the “A5 crew”, who had a Thai pollinate his room. “a5” is shorthand for ‘nl5 x haze A’ different from her sister “c5”, or ‘nl5 x haze C’. These seeds were sent to e.T., who then shared some with Bodhi. Bodhi germinated them in early 2013 and all he got was one male (a5Haze x Mirakel). He doesn’t normally keep males if there are no females to evaluate but he used it anyway to pollinate the Cuban Black Haze cut that he had. The strain was referred to as Piff by Bodhi initially. The beans were shared almost exclusively with Doc D, who after running them selected the Piff #7 and shared a cut of it back with Bodhi. Bodhi had it tested and it came back in the high 20’s. Bodhi and Doc D shared cuts with other forum members here in late 2014 and after some discussion most of us agree that it is actually better than Cuban Black Haze and it also has a shorter flower time (100 days). Everyone, Bodhi, Doc D, e.T and everyone else, refer to this cut now as “Bandaid Haze”. Bodhi coined the term because, “it heals all wounds”.” Phenos of this cross run from Haze dominant to Kush dominant, with terps and flavors from both strains present in the progeny. Medium to heavy yielder.
