Karma's Sour Jack Testers

Ganja D

Just read through. Looks really nice. This is what happens when plants are grown with near perfect health all the way through.
Also, looks the the SD is real dominant in this cross. I can't imagine how it smells.
Really nice work.

Hi Ganja D  . I am flattered by the compliments from a grower such as yourself ... you guys killed it outdoors this year so mad props to you for that.

I am pleased with how things are going this run - it's fun to push for perfection each time, knowing that nothing is perfect. Keeps you on your toes.

I think the majority are SD dominant with maybe the sativa girl leaning more towards the Jack dad. I'll have to ask Karma about that. Either way - they smell like heaven.

Your girls look so healthy and beautifull Secret, the smell must be really strong now.

Thanx for sharing :thank you:

Hi THC Angel! Thank you for the kind words :D.

These grils certainly are being well behaved. I even left for 4 nights recently and came back and they were still super happy! I thought they looked frosty before, but now it looks like they were dusted with ice.

I'm going to go shoot some pics now and I'll get them up tonight (I hope).

Awesome plants man {:

Thanks!

Good evening everyone

I hope everyone had a pleasant ThanksGiving filled with great people and great food. I had a relatively low key few days with my brother and family but it was greatly needed, especially with this bum ankle.

I actually left the garden for 4 nights and was a little worried, but luckily everything turned out wonderfully. When I returned all the girls will still very happy.

The day count on these sour jack girls is a little cloudy. Given the fact that I've been in a narcotic haze for the better part of the past 7 weeks, I am having difficulty remembering when exactly they went in. It was sometime around my surgery, so I have to look closer. The point is that they will probably come down around 65ish days (I normally pull 70+) because I am going on vacation and that would make the most sense.

Anyways, enough jibba jabba, here is what is going on, enjoy folks.

peace,sg

Sour Jack #1 @ 7 weeks - although not perfect, she will get another run:

Sour Jack #2 @ 7 weeks - A beast of a keeper

Sour Jack #3 @ 7 weeks - She won't get run again; too stretchy and the yield seems poor. I have a clone, but I am about to chop it. If others disagree, speak now or forever hold your peace! I am debating holding it until I try to the smoke at the very least ...

Sour Jack #5 @ 7 weeks - The other keeper for sure

I've never been known to hold my peace....... so I'll give you my opinion.....
I'd keep the clone....! Here is why.....: I've in the past, more than once, experienced that the sativa phenos often don't look to be of any interrest, they can often prove you wrong. But a few questions that could help to find out if she's a keeper.....: Are the buds hard? Is the smell jawdropping?(close your eyes when you smell the bud and try and fell how the smell affect your 'receptors' that tinkley feelin you can get). If breeding, does it have any traits I'd llike to keep or pass on?
So....to give a verdict....I say keep....!!! Wait untill you have had the buds in a joint or bonghit atleast.
Uhhhh I can't wait for mine to chubby up with big stinky buds!!!!
Good karma to your harvest.......

Quick update...

I finally went back to the calendar and figured out that they went into 12/12 on 10/7. That means A) all my weekly picture lables are off by a week and B) tomorrow night will be 60 days. Given that I am going to the Carib next weekend for a week or so, I will take these ladies down Monday/Tuesday. Usually my policy is 70 days, but given the time situation and 61 days vs 75+ days, I have chosen the prior. I have 3 more (#1,2,5) ready to go into flower, so the next run I will take them a bit longer.

So, they look great, the trichomes are all cloudy, they have chunked up nicely and I think they are ready to go.

I will take final pics and even throw together a time progression for each when I do the smoke reports.

Stay tuned!

peace,
sg

Ok, the first two I took down are almost dry. If the scissor hash is clue as to how this bud is, then we are in a good place :D.

When all are dry (either tomorrow or Thurs) a couple of my very good/close friends will come over to try everything out and then I will put together an official smoke report. For now, here are the time progressions for what has come down:

Alright everyone, so here is my attempt at a smoke report for Sour Jack. I wrote down notes as I was smoking the past few nights. I am not always the best at describing things, but I tried ...

Smells SD dominate, a tiny bit sweet in some of the more compact phenos. Overall a delightful smell.

Tastes like Jack at first, (at least it reminds me of the Jack we used to get back 6-7 years ago from a reputable source) a little sweet on the first hit, like nice headies, but then quickly moves into the SD/more fuely taste. The longer you smoke the more diesel-esqu it tastes. Sort of numbs the lips a bit by the end of the joint. Mouth feels coated in a piney/fuely taste. Definitely keeps reminding you that you just smoked some dank shit.

The high is basically mind-bending. I smoked the Sativa dominant one the other night and felt super head high, almost a trippy, pulsing of the world around me. Some of the more compact phenos still offered that similar feeling, perhaps not as heady, but still, if you smoke enough you get that pulsating in the head and chest. I got up quick a few times and got a little dizzy/head rush. All phenos do well with pain as well. I have a broken/healing ankle and I was walking around on it with no pain. Definitely numbs the body well.

Not super munchy feelings, but heightened flavors and tastes when eating.

Overall a top notch smoke - obviously something expected with two legendary parents. I will be running them again when I get back from the Caribbean, but for now things are shut down. Clones are being cared for elsewhere until I return.

Big shout out to Karma Genetics for providing me with these testers. I hope I ran them to your standards, sir. If you ever need a tester for anything else - just give me a shout!

peace,
sg

Nice grow report man! The plants looked really good all the way through. I had a few SD crosses in the past shoot out some foxtailing like your SJ #1 did. The SJ5 looks like it has the best of both parents. I just put my sourjacks in papper towels today.

Thanks! I knew that foxtailing would be possible with the SD, so it was no big surprise. I agree with you though, either the SJ5 or the SJ2 is the best of them all. I am still going to give them all another try - perhaps run the Sativa one a bit longer.

Either way, they are all great plants. Best of luck with yours...
