Ey up. Just starting the diary before I’ve made a start as proof of willing.

Drying weed should be out of the tent during the week so I’m going to germinate these this weekend at some point.

Apologies. Drying weed took forever. We’re off to a start though and that’s the main thing. Vial had 8 seeds. I believe you officially get 6 in a pack of karma fems so put 6 out. Got 6 up …

Pink runtz and Apple fritter … anything on the way the parents grow? Anything to look out for? Or do they make for a steady grow?

Ey up. Been a bit of a slow veg really. Cold weather has been a bit of a shit slowing things up. I can only throw so much at the electric. That being said the past week or so it’s warmed up.

Potted up into 3L pots. Currently on between 1.3 and 1.4 EC. Temps are around 25/26 now lights on. Humidity a bit on the low side - low 50’s mainly. When first potted they got a feed and I allowed the top of the coco to dry out. Then one day off and one day on until they root out a bit. Roots have come through drainage holes. I reckon another week n a bit I’ll look to flick them to 12/12.

I have 1.8m minus pot height and room for the light. Probably leaves me about 1.5m in total. So I have to keep them really short. I’m much more confident topping rather than bending so much so this is really the first time I’ve been tying things as I water. If you see any unevenness it’s just because they’ve charged of before next drink ….

Ey up they look beautiful :) Look at that frosting!

It’s been a bit of a slow veg. On mine and British weathers part. Dropped cold again this week with frosted lawns and car windscreens. Bit the bullet and stuck a bigger heater in the tent. They’ve proper cracked on. Not sure if they’re greedy or it’s different batches of nutrients. I’d been putting 1.4ec through, which is usually enough through veg but first bit of run off kept measuring 1.1. Pretty consistently too. So all 6. I’ve started to put 1.6 through with no ill effects as of yet.

Last night temps were 28 lights on. Il have to check hygrometer for lights off. 3 plants per light 160w @ around 3ft.

I’m intending to go 12/12 this weekend :)

Right. Going 12/12 tonight. The 3L pots need watering at least twice a day now. Just taking a break from cleaning/setting up the auto watering stuff. I’ll water them 4x a day give or take. I’ll measure EC as much as I can to get to the sweet spot.

My pH pen has gone silly. I know how much pH down for hand watering but I’m a little concerned about reservoir pH drifting. I’m gonna have to use litmus or the like for now. Cheap pH pens are wank. It’s only a small res and I can top up daily so it shouldn’t be too bad.

They could look better but it’s costing me a fucking bomb keeping them warm so it could be worse. Really I should have had these piped up to a res at least a week ago. They’re being tested in more ways than one.

Ey up.

Only 7th day of 12/12.

Those on the right hand side of them tent didn’t look as happy as the other. Environment is as good as I can get at the moment. 27c lights on. Humidity mid 50’s. Light set to 200w - probs 2.5ft away. Measured run off and it was 0.25 over. I’m using a fairly new feed so I’m blaming that. Reset EC to 1.45 and will add a minute to the pump run time. We’ll get it on the button before too long.

Can only upload 1 pic. Saying others are too big ….

I’ll reduce size next time. Never had a bother before. Didn’t realise it was such a big file.

Yeah I’m hoping a bit of a bend will do the trick. If not I’ve got a 2.3m tent that will be empty in a couple of weeks. Also they’re up on pot stands so can loose a bit of height that way.

Been on seedfinder. Apparently Apple fritter isn’t a big monster so put my mind at rest a little.

‘Ello. Day 22 since going to 12/12.

Had to get new feed. So now using ionic. £20 odd quid for 5L. Have to use a fair bit though. Feeding 1.55. Sometimes just over 1.6.

I’m using a liquid pH kit so ballpark pH is 5.8/6.0.

Temps are 28c and humidity currently is mid 60’s. There’s run off in the tray though so it’s nowt really.

Light is fairly close. You’ll see in the pictures I’ve bent a few tops. They’ve not even flinched. It’s not a very powerful light. I usually use it for veg. It’s a 200w lumatek effort. It’s turned down to 160w. Seems to be keeping them happy.

I’ll get pics of numbers 1-6 next update. They seem to be fairly uniform though. Only 3L pots remember so early flowers may seem a bit dainty but there’s lots of them.

Ey up folks.

I think it’s about 37/38 days of 12/12 so far. I’d have to check the calendar to be sure.

Currently feeding 1.5/6 EC. I pH the res to about 5.8 and allow it to go to 6.4 before readjusting. I can’t be entirely sure since I’m using the liquid test kits. £2 a kit of £80/90 for a decent pH meter?! No brainer.

Temps are around 28 lights on. I have to admit I dunno lights out temps. My Govee sensor is in a drying tent at the moment. Humidity in the lung room I know to be 58 as of this morning. Once me weed is dry I can Bob the wifi sensor in.

They’re quite close to the lights but I’ve readjusted the settings and they seem quite happy. I always end up with tall plants but I really went to town cleaning the bottoms up right up to the netting.

I rubbed a few sugar leaves last night and get toffees (sweets for those not from my part of the world). I’ve slept since but working off memory I get the old fashioned ‘Fruit Salad’ chew smell and others a curious batter type smell. I’m not the best with smells since I smoke mucky ciggies but I did my best.

Ey up. Day 49.

Some tops look more cooked than others. Possibly a bit of stress from the light. This’ll be the last time I use this tent for flower. It was always intended for veg only but that happens when yer get greedy and start 3 packs of seeds. I will be revegging at least 2 of these plants so I’ll get another crack at it.

There’s two particular plants that are straight up fruit salad chews but with a fizz. I imagine that’s the runtz having never had any of that foody/trendy weed before. I’m gonna keep those and do them in my 2.3m tall tent in bigger pots.

I’d say another 10/14 days perhaps(?) for everything to be finished. Started tapering down the EC and lowered the brightness a touch. What are folks opinions on going 11/13 or 10/14 for the last couple of weeks?

Those buds look really good, I don't think there is big stress from the light, they are close but as the LED don't emit so much heat it doesn't fry the flowers like a HPS would do at this distance.
The big calyxes buds look really nice, they are definitely worthy of another run if you like their smells. You should go ahead with 11/13 of light, I like to help the plants to understand the end is close and at this stage I don't think it can really affect the yield.
Naughty cigy smoker, I've stop tobacco on an every day basis but I still smoke cigs when I drink alcohol or I'd smoke way too much joints.

Thanks for the kind words @kro-magnon :) Ciggy smoker here too. Im a heavy drinker, mostly tea! I’m teetotal when it comes to ale. Don’t like the tipsy feeling. Those ciggies need to go though. My smell and taste must be completely compromised- goes to show how good that fruit salad smell must be if I’m getting it loud and clear.

Ive been careful to adjust the light as they got closer. It’s something I battle a lot for it to be anything other than user error. I always give enough light. It can’t be spread of light because I see it over the full canopy. I’d imagine the edges would stretch more if the light wasn’t spread enough.

@Karma G if I could be bold enough to pick your brains, other than light is there a variable that’ll incline a plant to overstretch or stretch longer than a grower would expect? I seem to see stretch most grows carry on 4+ weeks. I’ll supercrop/tie down best I can but they just get away from me.

Online it says these should go 8-9 weeks and it looks like they’ll be on time so I think I’ll set the timer for 11/13 for what I hope is the last two weeks.
