20'Thai first started Old Mother Sativa in the seventies when he inherited the seeds from his uncle, who found them in some late 50s Thai stick. He had real trouble finishing them off properly before the cool weather arrived in Victoria, so used to grow them up on the North coast of NSW with Kog.

It'll be interesting to see if you can get them to realise their full expression down there:) Probably easier to complete if hybridised to some Indica.

We may also put a few in beside the MMs to compare & contrast the two old North Coast sativa legends & then see what the progeny look like.

We got a few crosses of it going atm :) got flowering down to about 14 weeks as aposed to 19 so we can just squeeze is in :)

Here is a privately sourced Thai from the Hmong people around Phitsanulok, called Hmong Thai...it is the most vigorous strain Kanga has ever worked with ...

In this part of Australia there are two growing seasons. Below we see the Hmong Thai finishing off in Winter with an Autumn sapling next to her.

I'm glad to hear that. 20'Thai said he used to have no trouble growing her up until about 8 years ago, then the end of summer starting bringing more rains. Same thing has happened up here - late rains - tests even the most mould resistant sats.

Such a beautiful plant OMS, particularly your mate Gundawindi's grows. Awesome. Be good to have him on ICMAG so when the Yanks boast about their 200 gallon smartpot grows being the biggest and the best - just show them to Kangativa and Gundawindi's grows and let the photos do the rest:):)

He is over at Ozstoners ;) and RIU I tried to get him to sign up here but for some reason admin never authorised his account :( he is in a world of hurt atm so when he recovers ill get him to try again :)

true that bushweed :D and shroomy it'll be a pleasure to be growing these by your side mate! can't wait! :D

its gonna be sweet mate :gday:

Mendo Girl

Mendo Girl

Hi all.....I thought I would put up some picks of a strain I did while living in Northern Cal.
The first year I grew there I noticed these 2 strains that my good friend was already growing and had been for a lot of years.
They both had such different smells and while one had the typical Haze look to it and was later finishing, the Skunk was solid and early finishing. So I decided that these 2 crossed would make a good plant for back home.
So in 1990 the year my daughter was born I did the cross using males of each on females of each and bought the seed back home in 91 I grew both lots of seeds out and chose what I thought was the best of both and the result was the Mendo girl which I named after my daughter who was born up in a little cabin up in the forest behind the town of Mendocino.
It produces nice solid heads with a incredible up lifting high, with a little body stone, the smell is oh so sweet and does not grow to big. As you can see I also still grow the haze and skunk line here, plus numerous other strains that I brought with me that my friend has been growing in the hills near Mendo for yrs.......This is some of the original strains from that area.

During my bit of a break I have been concentrating on the Mullum.

When I first got hold of the seed there was a couple of different phenos, but the most common was the plants like in my avatar, long headed branches with beautiful long colas.
As the seasons and weather changed I found I was starting to get more mold than usual, so I started breeding for heads with a bit more distance between them so mold wasnt as bad.
Now I have been looking for the old day Mullum in some old seed that I had .......this is now called MM#1 and the other one that I grew a season ago is Big MM...

MM no.1. an 80s type pheno with longer colas more Colombian appearing structure see pg.11....

Carefull Shroomy, you will end up like me......Totally confused on what one to plant:dunno:
But this would be a very good choice for your area and has a good mold resistance if you get cold early rains:)

thats a problem that i am happy to live with :)

Kanga teamed up with Nevil to see what could be done with Kanga's MM, Oaxacan, Thais, Kariba Surprise & as below Nevil's Haze....

They settled on the Nevil's Hz#21 cut, with her beautiful sativa structure and capacity to cross well..
