it was delicious and excited to see what it can do at 9weeks. so, i was looking at nugs through my 30x and i swear there was a few amber and a lot cloudy trichs. is this possible this early? first timer and just cannot believe they would be ripening this early. does it change slow becuase i still have another three weeks to go

At 5 weeks the plant is putting out new growth, but there are probably some older calyxes. The trics on the mature calyxes may be cloudy or even amber, but this isn't an indication that the plant near ready. What is going to happen in the coming weeks is that flowering is going to accelerate and the plant is going to put out many more new calyxes and these calyxes are going to swell and eventually mature. If you harvest early you are missing out on this. Eventually there will be a point where new growth is minimal or non-existent, the pistils turn brown (or red), and the trics on most of the plant mature. This is when you want to harvest. There are huge benefits to waiting until they are finished in the form of increased yield and quality. If you are desperate for smoke, chop a branch in a couple of weeks.
