other than my extended vacation presently I am full time grower. I have quite an education . I am master mechanic with smog certs too , I also can weld, I also went to school for horticulture at cuyamaca colledge and got several certs there too.i am also ex steel worker, and I can list quite a few more certs too. I actually find growers I know to be quite accomplished folks with a vast education a lot in horticulture.
Sorry maybe I should have phrased that differently, but I meant to say that most full time growers "I know" grow because they don't really have other options to make a decent living. We have had a lot of manufacturing plants close around here and put people out of work in the last few years. Where I live though the powers that be think medical marijuana is a joke, and growing has very real and harsh consequences so it's not a career choice entered into lightly. I certainly couldn't see the risk vs. reward for someone with other options to make money. But again thats just my state, and someone from a med state might view it completely differently. Nobody gets 4k a pound here either. Especially not since our city is flooded with imported herb from Denver.
