Just got some Darkroom Louvers and there's so little airflow they are WORTHLESS!!

No missunderstanding, you are dead on. I like to tell folks that overkill is hard to do on the intake unless it becomes a stealth or structural issue.

Simpleword: what did you make that baffle out of? I might be better off making one of those and attaching it to the door.

2/1 or greater is a great place to start. As long as it can be kept light tight it is hard to have too much passive intake.
Some guy here was swearing by 4X intakes. I have 2X. My fan still ramps up considerably when I close the door and breathes a sigh of relief when opened.

az--> Thanks for that nmb link. I'm no engineer, so correct me if I'm reading that page wrong but stacking 2 computer fans on top of each other would pull more air out of a cab than having them side by side or spread 20" apart?

This is my friends current set up that I'm helping him with and he found out that he definitely needs more light traps/intakes to cool his cab.


bottom light trap/intake

top light trap/intake (both 1.5"diameter)

so another question for you az: would it help to put an intake fan on the opposite wall of the exhaust fan to push more air over the lights?
