Just got a new carbon scrubber, figured id pass on the good word!

After searching ebay for the cheapest carbon scrubber, i found this guy selling them at his store.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...Category=43510&_trkparms=algo=LVI&its=I&otn=2

Had the same amount of carbon as the other guys, and dimensions so I figured i would give it a shot. Got it today, hooked everything up and BOOM no smell! Its pretty heavy too, full of carbon, seems very sturdy too!

Figured i would pass it on, some of these stores are charging 100+ !!!

With the exception of shipping, that's almost as cheap as my DIY. For those uninterested in building one, looks like a good buy.

4-5 lbs of activated carbon? Thats poor. This place has good prices on carbonaire filters...

Their communication is poor sometimes but I've never had a problem, cheapest prices on everything.

that one is 2x the price, and does not list carbon pds, IMO 5 pds of carbon is plenty most grows!

Uh, the one that is "twice as much" has 40lbs of carbon -didn't you see all the others? I didn't post a link to a single product. The active air 12x13 is only 20 bones more and has 26 lbs of carbon, the 18 X 5 has 9 lbs of carbon and is 15 dollars less than your 4-5lb filter.

Hell you can find the smaller can filters for less than fifty.

The carbonaire is nearly 3 times as thick. I'd hope it weighs more. But, I've no interest in 40 lbs of anything hanging over my head and even less interest in needlessly surrendering 10 inches in cab height.

The active air are "no maintenance" which sounds like one time use. A once time use is pretty useless. They also require a flange at additional cost so there's no savings with these.

I'll stick to DIY but, if I were buying, I'd go with the Ebay guy. The Carbonaires are all bad sizes and the Active air sounds useless.

There are other sizes, how many times do I have to repeat myself -the smaller filters are less money WITH the flange and have more carbon than that homemade ebay filter. You can buy a can-filter with the flange for less money than that homemade filter.

50 dollars for a homemade filter with 4lbs of carbon is not a deal. it's a ripoff.
