I’m curious, are these Romulan beans available to the general public? I’ve always wanted to grow out that strain, and I would like to obtain some if possible…

I bought Romulan genetics Romulan bx1 from Ace seeds and grew 5 out, i got 1 female, 4 males.

The grow in this thread is from f2 seeds from crossing the 4 male rom bx1 to the 1 female rom bx1.

What i've sampled so far i've been very impressed by.

it looks really tasty, good work...;)

Thanks @tog1 It's all the genetics and they seem rather good.

I've often read strain description and found the smoke didnt really live up to the description but with these it actually does.

I always wanted to try Romulan and ive had a little peek into the line.

Whilst i haven't got the pine taste i expected so far i'm surprised by how the couple of samples i've tried positively affects general stress levels.

I've had a fuck awful stressful day but while smoking this i've managed to get up on the scaffolding, fix a few tiles on the roof, fix some leadwork, and not lose the plot after receiving some very stressful news.

It's a nice smoke. i can see why it has been preserved. it has very definite medical benefits.

Saying that, afterwards i did suffer an involuntary spasm causing me to throw the coffee all over the roast potatoes.

But i'd been working hard all day. Something i haven't done in a while.

I most like the 'can do' attitude the smoke gives and the 'no big deal it can be fixed' attitude.

I had to watch myself on the scaffolding though as i was tempted on quite a few occasions to start working where there was no scaffolding to support any fall.

Man so many choices you got me wanting to run romulan. See a few places carry romulan now from Canada banks. Might try to find some s1 or fems. Love the smells your getting, sounds like my kind of herb..I hate dessert strains or fruity stuff.

Thanks.

Yes, think 5 or 6 packs went pretty quickly from Aceseeds website.

Will grab another pack for backup when they restock.
I recall growing a Romulan outdoors close to 25 years ago. A friend and I made a couple of seed orders from different companies; my friend had more interest in the Romulan than I did. Now with health issues I might find Romulan useful. I remember the Romulan changing colour and one person mentioning the soon to be harvested plant had a smell of popcorn to them.

Hi @oldmaninbc

I've not smelt any popcorn smells to any of the f2s i ran. There is maybe a slight smell of popcorn when i smoke a spliff in the air but popcorn isnt a smell i really notice here or would associate with the roms i've run (which is only 6).

Maybe the Rom you and your friend tried was Federations. I know federation had a lot of other strains that had names that would make you think popcorn, like cotton candy and of-course the butterskotch hawaiian.

The roms i tried have more of a lemon and kushy peardrop smell to them. Some of them burn to have a lemon and chocolate leather smell in the air.

The 5 F2s all smell quite different and yield and look quite different. There is one that took on a pink hue towards the end of flowering maybe due to the colder temps but the rest remained green throughout.

Even though they all look different the highs are close. Some are more up, some more relaxing but they all have a common high to them that is thick and deep but euphoric and up... very clear and has good pain relieving and stress relieving properties and also reduces inhibition.

There is a degree of fun and jokiness to all the highs. I find myself dancing, winding up and laughing a lot with my daughter.

Funnily enough they all seem to impart this golden glow to everything too. It has a nice Christmas feel to the high :dance013:

I'm enjoying the smoke a lot.

It's the nicest smoke i've had in quite a while.

Nice to have you pop in :tiphat:

Congrats on the successful short term run...the Roms sound great, makes me think you should try mixing all 5 - since they are similar...be waiting on that smoke report 😉.

Hey @nick11

Nice to see you pop in again brother, roll a fatty

I highly reccommend you get some. The quality of the high is top notch and seems fixed within the f2s i ran.

Bud below was grown in the front left of tent

IMG_2624.jpg

Undisturbed it smells of Jasmine but upon breaking it apart it smells of Pineapples.

Dry pulling the spliff tastes of Mangos with a very subtle hint of anise.

Lighting the spliff i get hints of wet paint (water based, not oil) and lemon sourness.

Cheeks instantly tingling and feel a glow of warmth expanding outwards from heart chakra.

Smile starting to kick in... Nice warm rushes...

Ears pop and it feels like my joints are cushioned by rubber and the force of gravity has inverted somewhat.

Nice what are you running next? Forgive me if you stated earlier.

I'm gonna have a little break and enjoy some blended concentrates, dry sift and oil.

In the new year i'll buy another tent, maybe two and get right back on it.

One tent hopefully will be GN Zamal, the other tent i dunno yet. The third tent will be a reeeeveg tent.

What you running next?

Now the bud has dried and aired some of it does indeed have a malty sugared popcorn smell to it when being broken apart to smoke.

I was trying to think back all those years and I believe the Romulan we had came from Federation. I know at the time my friend and I made orders from 4 or 5 companies and shared the seeds and costs of half a dozen different strains.
