I have been growing Zamal for about 4 years now just gave her over to a mate as it's a space hog & its not your normal grow!

But still the end product beats nearly any other Sativa I have had from a seed bank.

cinderella99,
i tried to germinate half a pack with out sucess, i want to try the rest with out blowing it. i used the paper towel method which has always worked for me until recently.....i seem to be having a bad run with germination and cloning these days. good advice on old seeds is welcome

i keep all my seed in the fridge not only do they keep for longer it simulates winter
as i posted earlier i give em a skuff first
then they are soaked for a day and placed into moistened peat pucks/pellets
on a thermostate controlled heat mat set at 25c

took about 10 days for everything to sprout

They where already not that easy to sprout when fresh, I agree with the heated pad.
And if you have a good control on the strength of your fingers, you could try to gently squeeze them (I use my thumb nail) right on the "crack-line" near the tip/point of the seed, not the base.
As far as I recall, I did so after 5 days to one week of "no show", but after that most did show within 4 day's.
If you are unsure, it might be best to practice the squeezing first on some bag or hemp seeds.

It is funny that you mention that gerrit, i had sown some old mexican seeds about a week ago and no show, so itook them out and scuffed them in a match box with sand paper but i was not happy with the scuffing so i held them between my thumb and forefinger and scraped them with a scalpal, i gave them a bit of a squeeze length ways and "pop"......the embrio did look white and fresh so fingers crossed!
Thanks for mentioning it though.

High all zamal growers and lovers :)

Squiggles, thanks for share your pure zamal flowers, zamal is without any doubt one of the most powerful and crazy landrace sativas i've tried, a true gem! Im glad to hear growers are still germinating gypsy's pure zamal.

As Gerrit explained, zamal seeds came from Christophe from La Reunion Island and have been distributed by Gypsy.

I'd like to thank Gerrit, he donated us his selected zamal mother time ago, a very nice selection, her taste is better than the past zamal females we grew.

Ras Pablo, zamal/warlock x Chitral was a great hybrid! You have great intuition to find nice genetic mixes bro!
