JLP's G-13

Hey blue, shaolin's roommate here. I'm just wondering what your dry weight was and how big your g13 plant was. This is our smaller one about 30 days into flower

and here is our other, bigger, g13 about 18 days into flower.

hoping for atleast an ounce from the big one (and really no expectations from the other one), think i might get that?

The F2 were made from POG G-13 backross that I got from Seeds Direct. What exactly that is comprised of,I have no idea.

I do not believe that this is the "real" G-13 nor do I believe that G-13 ever existed. It's a great story, and everyone seems to add thier new twist when they tell it,but I have never seen solid proof. As more and more G-13s make thier way to the market place, and they will, the name "G-13" will become as generic as the name "Indica".

I am not sure about all the folklore either, but Nevil did have a plant he called G13 and made hybrids with. That much is documented. Here is the proof you seek from Nevil's own seed catalogue:

That would be a shame.

No one doubts that there is atleast 1 really good clone only strain going around under the name G13. But that's just a name. JLP was doubting the origin stories normally associated with G13. I can get a dank mother, start cutting and giving out clones and if its good enough people will call it whatever I tell them too. And even if its not what I say it is, if it is as good or better then the real deal with that name people will defend that bullshit name to the death using the quality of the bud as proof.

Sammy, hi! I never weigh my weed. I am after quality, not quantity, and this coupled with the fact that I do not sell weed menas i have no reason at all to wiegh it. Also, I have been growing long enough to be able to tell by looking whether the strain in question has yeilded well, medium or poorly.

The plant was not enormous...but had many very large buds....

Here's a pic to give you a better idea, this is her just before getting chopped:

As you can see, buds are numerous and hefty to say the least

Not a popcorn bud on her...all the buds were large enough to escape the trimmings bag for later use as bubble-hash :D

Nice plant BV.

One of the biggest I've seen yet.Nice and ripe too.

Doesnt seem like there's too many phenos from the grows you guys are showing.I have seen a few here and in my garden that take on a little stretch but it doesnt seem to last long.Maybe some Kush in this one although it doesnt have a classic Kush flavor.I had one that grew like it was on steroids, they all seem to grow with some nice vigour.

If I use the F2 for further breeding I'll probably reffer to this strain as G-Indica or someting rather than "G-13".I really dont care about the name, the feature that drew me to this strain was the potency.

Here's a pic of the last little bud from my last plant I finished a couple weeks ago.

Good luck everyone.

Thanks JLP

The pic is actually an "archive" pic as she's been in the jars for about 10 days now

One thing for sure, whatever you wanna call her, she's a gem alright. Easy to grow, no odor issues, beautiful to look at, literally covered with trichs in late flower, big yeild...what more can a grower ask for? Right now the buds smell very strongly of petroleum with a hint of menthol...I haven't done a good test smoke of her yet, want to see how the buds change as they cure...I'll be putting a smoke report up in the relative forum in a couple of weeks.

Hey BlueVelvet...
Have you considered trying out a water cure on a small portion of your harvest? Just wondering. I'm dying for that smoke report. I've heard this is real easy to grow and would love to get my hands on some.

Sorry Ms.Herbalivation...water curing does not even remotely cross my mind  Seems its excellent if you need to leach nasty chemicals out of your weed, but I am about as organic as you can get when it comes to growing and my weed is clean ....I'm also a maniac for a good cure and anything less than orthodox just won't cut it for me :D Forgive me please, we all have our faults LOL. As for it being easy to grow, it is...and I'd recommend it to anybody:smile:

Actually, I have the thread saved in my Subscriptions for the very purpose of your method! While extreme, without doubt, it provides many fine pointers, whether employed in its entirety or not!

I used it as a reference when I was curing my first harvest back in November...

[edit] Afterthought... In fact, if 'n when ICMag gets a FAQ Section, I think that post should be stripped out as the "Ultraist Quality Curing Method" --:yes: [/edit]
