Looking good so far Hazy, my eyes are peeled as I'm just getting started on my own coco grow, first time coco for me, I feel like a beginner all over again! lol
Very nice work guys! You'll find coco to be very forgiving and easy to work with. Plants really love it. What nutes are the two of you using? I use Canna Coco along with their suppluments.
Peat pots transfer very nicely into coco and so does soil! Much easier of a transition than you would think! Never lost a transplant--not a one!!
Another great product to look for are the coco pellets that look like peat pellets. Their website is www.saveourpeatbogs.com
The coco pellets are made by a company called Planter's Pride and the are a Canadian Co.
canna for me ,ive been growing in canna coco and using theyre coco nutes since the day they were released about 11 years ago (used canna soil nutes in soil prior)
,ive tried lots of additives with them and can reccomend as a program
canna coco medium +
canna coco a +b ,as base nute ,start ec 1.0 work upto ec 2.0 ph 5.8-6.2
additives for veg are canna rhizotonic ,
growth technologies nitrozyme and /or dutchmasters max veg
additives for flower canna pk13-14 or vita buddy ,with an enzyme treatment weekly ,flush 1 week prior to harvest
either cannazym or house and garden multizym ,,got free bottles of hygrozyme and hesi powerzym to try next ,,in fact i'm gonna give the whole hesi line a try real soon ,i saw some hesi grown weed not so long back and i was very impressed ,did i say impressed i meant fucking amazed lol
Hygrozyme is the mutts nuts, I highly recommend it, you wont be dissapointed hazy. Shame its so damn expensive. Think ill tag along for the ride too, seeings as im gonna be spending most of my time in the coco forums now. I am a convert, best stuff since sliced bread lol.
Peace
Baffled
Thanks for the info Hazy! I have used both Hygrozyme and Cannazym both have worked equally well for me. Have heard good feedback on the House & Garden stuff too! Don't know much on the Hesi, so looking forward to seeing how it works for you! Keep us posted!
Great Q! In my experience, NO! There are no "Magic Bullets"... Both work equally well-- no noticeable difference!
I believe if the plants are receiving proper levels of nutes, water quality, plenty of light/sq. foot or meter, and great Air, these things are of utmost importance. Not just some miracle additive. What has you experience been?
Also, how many times do you generally re-use your coco and how do you condition it between grows?

Cheers!, MN[/QUOTE]
i thought u might say no and totally agree that enviroment influences a lot more than additives
i figured an enzyme treatment is just an enzyme treatment and all do basically the same job ,luckily i dont pay for them but based on our experiences and your results i'd have to say that Hygrozyme is not worth triple the price of other enzyme products,i'd like to be proven wrong ..i'll conduct a proper experiment as soon as i can
as for re-using coco ,,its something i havent done in a few years ,
what i used to do was preflush with an enzyme about a week before harvest ,then i'd shake off as much coco as possible from the roots and mix it with fresh coco 50/50,
these days no matter what size pots i go in the roots tend to fill the coco too much to be able to re-use it ,so i use fresh coco every run ,i get it at wholesale price so its not too exspensive for me to do it ,
as i opened my tub first thing this morning the very familiar smell of New York City Diesel came wafting out ,i couldnt wake n bake quick enough lol,,,trouble is what am i gonna do when it runs out lol
I know how you feel Hazy, I got all depressed when my Zamal ran out, I planned to make it last until I'd grown some more, but I got my timings (and consumption! lol) wrong and it's week 12 of a 16 week flowering period waiting very impatiently for a Zamal clone to finish.
Well, I might have killed off half my seedling in coco but the Cheese and OG Kush are doing great in coco, sadly the Double Dutch didn't root. The Deep Chunk is sat in a waterfarm a a friend's place growing into a bush to chop up for cuttings. I'm gonna have to make a trip to the city to pick up some coco and other supplies soon, we'll have to see if we can organise a meet up and smoke out.
plants now put into flower ,coco nutes only, e.c is now 1.8-2.0 and ph is 6.0 ,i'll be testing canna bio boost as soon as first pistils appear on half of them if possible for evaluation of the product
:theres 19 plants and i'm hoping for 9-12 females ,fingers crossed :joint
That's a high EC hazy, do you find you can run your nute levels this high with canna coco nutes? My seedlings are only a couple of days younger than yours and tiny in comparison! Guess I've got a lot to learn with this coco lark! I'm paying close attention to what you;re doing, see what tips I can pick up! Finger crossed on the female front.
