Jenna's grow <grin>

We like lots of perlite also, the roots need oxygen big time.
Sometimes if things are starting to look bad it can be beneficial to step back and just feed them ph balance water for a time...
It can let them fix things on thier own if it's not too serious.

i add a little 2...i buy bags already mixed with perlite..but i do add like 10 a 20% perlite extra 2 the bag

and as for xtra oxygen...you can use H2o2 every watering...just found that out..it works like a charm... :joint:

I am so glad you guys are posting in here! Very Kewl.

I had some GWS on the weekend.. it tastes like shit.. really like umm ammonia but its only cured for about a week so hopefully the taste will settle down. I sure wanted to get up and do something.. I just wasn't smart enough to attempt too much..haha.. It took three trips to the coffee maker to remember to add the water!

The BB is really looking nice! I wish Direwulfe (RIP) was around to see her.. he would get such a charge outta her.. she is really plumpin up! The re-veg will be kewl...I hope it works :yoinks:

So I snapped some pics of the sick ole plants we are trying to nurse back to health. No Laughing please... they are very sensitive.. :pointlaug

VB #1.. I think she is slowly maybe sorta getting better...Her stems are getting a bit firmer.. (that one that is out on its own has a bit more spring in it)

Heres the second sick VB

and the third sick VB.. She was up in the mom cab and looked umm worse so I moved her down into the veg cab..That mom cab feels pretty warm to me..maybe that has something to do with it..

Here's the LUI .. I think she is recovering.. Her new growth looks good.

and finally the NL.. she has been sitting in flower hoping that she perks up in there. I think she is getting better.

Ok.. maybe a bit of laughing.. GAWD.. those are some ugly plants!!

Wanna see the black russians? Three in veg.. I am gonna pop one into flower maybe but want to keep two Mom's in veg in one gallons. I will probably pop one in flower this week.

I gotta check the temps in that Mom cab.. We've got a new patient I think.. its terminal because I have a clone.. its a blockhead male. Maybe its the temps.. gotta remind myself to check that so

JENNA CHECK THE TEMPS IN THE MOM CAB.

Have a good day! Good luck with your sick ladies Core.. hopefully they are on the mend!

Hiya Jenna
U B kewl girl... props for posting photos of your sick plants. I learn as much from sick plants as healthy plants. You've got a very good recovery going, I like to recover sick plants too, it's a fun :dueling: !

I'm having a bit of revegging fun too, with the Sensi Stars - also hoping it works. If it does, :woohoo: :woohoo: .

Those Black Russians are DARK! Looking great!

^ MGJ is right. It's a shame when some people hide the ugly and only show the good.
Props to you Jenna :respect:
Let's beginner growers know that even the most experienced growers can still run into a few problems.

Nice recovery growth though  Great nursing job

Those Black Russians look great!

jenna-

I read the first 4-5 pages of your thread. I like what you are doing here. Sounds like you know your stuff. I read alot about organics, and see you have read even more !!

The watering thing sucks. I am using a peat mix from a horticulture supplier, and thought that you would have to water more often. You know, how people say to flood the ebb-n-flo tables 4 times a day. But, that just isn't going to happen with this type of substrate. Thinking mine are every 24-36 hours, and varies of cource.

What was the ph of the soiless mix you got from the store ?
I see that lime was in the mix.

Orchid forums are also a good source here, for this stuff. They are into, in a big way; mixes with high porosity, and drainage. Alot about well draining containers as well. Look into the 6 in. square Air Rand, aircone pots.

I will come back, and catch up on my reading. I would like to see more of your grow here, looks like an informative show you got here.

Very nice to have met you, icmager.

Hi everybody!

Core.. I wish I could remember if anything was out of the ordinary if the plants but I think it was just growin as usual but the four are still hanging on. We moved them out into the veg cab when they had gotten sick as it only seemed to effect plants in that cab and not all of them.. anyhow..it's been empty and we put a Heri male up there mostly because that's where the boys go (away from veg and flower).. anyhow.. he is now sick too so that tells me there is something going on with that cab... wierd!

Ah well.. its getting really really close to a reno time.. We want to rework veg again.... hmmmm, think this is #19! LOL

hi Mr Green Jeans.. I had to think twice about posting those suckers cuz they were SO ugly but I figured reaching out to the collective brain could help. Last thing I want is for ppl to think I know what the hell I am doing...I get way more help then! good luck on your Reveg!

Hi TML16... just when I start thinking I've got some skillz, these plants knock me down a peg and remind me what its all about....a really really really good stone! haha.. I am enjoying a bit of the black russian tonight... mixed with GWS in my morning coffee... What can I say.. Christmas shopping.. ya just gotta go buzzed!

hi Chilly Willy... I blew it with the pictures in my gallery for the first, I don't know.. 16 pages or so of this log...ah well, I tried to save it but only ended up getting the first page in pdf and it had my pic were already lost. I guess our mix is about 6.4.. We just buy a bale of peat moss, a big ole bag of perlite, some castings and some dolomite lime. We mix it together in a rubbermaid garbage bin (40 gallon) with a mixer on the end of a drill. About 50% peat, 40% perlite, 10% worm castings, and about 4 or 5 cups of lime. I like addding the lime because its a slow absorbtion for calcium to feed the ladies throughout and I think it helps maintain a slightly acidic mix.

how bout some pregnant pictures?

Here is blockhead.. she be with bean...43 days in flower

and that VB...

Hey.. I have a question about hydro...

Ok.. we've grown out a few strains i guess and some have real different nute requirements.. in a hydro system.. do you have to just grow one strain at a time or can you grow different strains with different nutrient requirements at the same time and meet all those requirements? I mean.. doesn't it all mix together and get all the plants? How does that work?

oven is buzzing!.. the ginger snaps are ready! Another use for Molasses? who'd a thunk it?
:D

You mean molasses are for human consumption too? LOL! Hydro is really easy! My favorite method of growing by far! Yeah! You can grow several strains at once as long as you don't have a strain that is REALLY nute sensitive (like some of the blueberries). I have seen some great growers that really don't max out the ppm's either and still have big beautiful buds! Are you and Danda considering a trial run of hydro? If so, I highly recommend PBP line of nutes. It's organic based vs some of the synthetic nutes out there! Hygrozyme, hydroplex, liquid karma, potassium silicate make a GREAT combo! See ya!

Hiya Jenna
You are far too modest my deah - I'd take hydro lessons from you anytime! You're right though - these plants - though they are weeds - can humble a gardener or at least surprise them a bunch!

Love the shot of the preggers Blockhead - just got some as the freebe selection with a seedbay order - oh my, another strain to keep my dirty eye on... :biglaugh: So many seeds, so need a 72 hour day

Love watcha doin girl - and BTW Happy Holidays! Gonna leave a spliff out for the big guy with the white beard?

Hey Jenna  Sorry to hear of your plant woes. These babies do have a way of humbling us don't they?

I am sure you'll snap back, your herb always looks wonderful.

Hey!! Morning Ppl!

dc105.. always a pleasure...Actually we are thinking about hydro for herbs... the other kind..you know sage, oregano, thyme, basil.. I don't have room to hide a hydro growing system so why hide it.. the idea is to learn how to do it so I could pretty much grow anything right?

Hi MrGreenJeans... you are NOT going to believe this.. well.. maybe you will but that damn weird plant illness also killed a nice little Heri plant in flower.. YES.. FLOWER... now this shit is getting serious! First the moms, now the flower room? UGHHHH. The Heri was doing good.. all bushing and lookin fine and I potted it up to a 5 gallon. It's like it never grew after the pot up. (fresh mix).. The root mass looks like it started to die...or maybe the leaves died first... i can't tell when it started...

Anyhow... we have three plants left that were originally effected by this. They are healing up nicely. (I think we lost 12 plants in total.)

then.....

now...

Hi TML16! Santa was awesome this year.. Romulan!! Kewl hey?
:woohoo: I got a really nice granite mortar and pestil too so I had been grinding things left and right round here. Eye of newt and a few toenails and these ppl will all do my bidding!

HI Gelowas... that Black Russian is hard to find isn't it? My clone is an F3 soon to be mixed with Romulan if all goes well... then back crossed till the cows come home. Happy New Year to you too!

Hiya POMH.. nice to see you! I hope we have stopped loosing plants! Other than loosing a pretty nice pheno with the Viet black, its recoverable.... I can say that because MY black russians weren't effected.

So today is harvest day for the LUI (homely looking plant this time) and the big blue budda... a real nice smoke by the way....

I have three black russians that we are gonna start taking clones from. We are doing things a bit different this time aren't putting anymore plants in flower until mid feb..that will let us reveg the grow area and take a vacation. Around the 20 of Feb, we are gonna pop about 15 lil clones in flower.. a hodge podge of Black Russian, Blockhead, LUI and maybe an NL. (I like that)

I am DYING to germ these romulan but with shutting down flower for a week or so, we gotta wait until the end of Feb. hmmmmm, we really need a plant sitter.. and a dog sitter..

I hope 2007 is wonderful for you all. While 2006 was probably my toughest year EVER... I grew, I loved, I learned and I laughed.. not bad at all hey?

Hi Jenna
Man, that sucks. So sorry to hear about your plant losses, hate it when that happens :badday:. I think it's great that you are taking a break - gives you and the cab a chance to recover; very happy to hear you still have the black russians and lui / bbbuddha to chop and jar to boot...

Hydro for herbs - great idea - hmmm, I need to think about doing the same. Would be a great way to "get my feet wet". Maybe one bucket in the kitchen window??? Just hadn't thought of the possibility - thx much!!! Great idea!!!

Something about the stuttering name BBBig BBBlue BBBuddha that has caught my eye, hope you can write a short smoke report after she cures a bit!

Very Happy New Year to you and yours! :friends:

Hya Mr GreenJeans.

I have a spare 400 that i figured we could set up for the herbs. It would bring our love of growing out in the open without getting us busted i think plus a herb is a herb... how tough can it be? the hydro guy is going out of business here so maybe I could get a good deal on a system without having to build it.. nah.. I am still too cheap for that! haha It's more of a cover than anything else.. that and I really want to learn hydro and have no room to hide it.

I harvested Lil Karma.. I thought it was an LUI but I didn't read the label close enough.. ugly sucker.. full of popcorn but a nice yeild just the same. Lil Karma is black domina x ultimate moonshine and we've ran the strain for quite a while. I hate trimming mounds of popcorn bud...yuck...I think its time for hash!

I harvested the Blue Buddha.... nice yeild on this one.... figures.. we got clones of the udder one~! I am attempting a re-veg.

Here's some pics.

She's got nice low growth

the nugs are nice and solid!

I have never had any luck with a re-veg that i didn't trim up the roots too so...

and now she is in her new home (2 gallon) and sitting in veg...

I probably left more greenery than necessary but I figured better safe than sorry. Hopefully this will take....crossing my fingers here!

I've grown herbs before, cilantro, parsley, chives. They have a glorious smell while growing also.

:chin: Hey...wonder if you could grow them in the same room with weed to help with odor?

Jenna

Active member
hmmm i bet it would offset the smell for sure but i know some of these herbs seem to reek of pot!

Did you grow them inside POMH? I tried tomatoes inside last year but wasn't really set up for them. The living room had mounds of dirt on the floor for ages... that can't be good for carpet! haha

No, actually I grew them outside last summer. The only indoor thing I've ever grown is weed. I don't even have any houseplants! lol
