I have a question for OranguTrump and other Jamaica aficianados: Will the ganja get better because of their new ganja laws allowing growing x number of plants per family or household? I would think this could improve the quality of the ganja available for us Jamaicamericans that visit. Let us know if you get some of the GOOD STUFF while you are down there. Good question - my gut says "Yes", once the herb is allowed to come out from the jungle, it's bound to get more science & up to date techniques applied.
Like A'dam & the US states that have legalized / medical approved - there is real push to improve & enhance it's natural abilities.
Conversely - it is going to lose some of that "down home" charm as the science & new techniques are applied.
Some of those mountain Rasta grow AAA+ - maybe we lose some f that to "progress". A shame if it does.

I will - even a girl I work with said her Mom lives in Ocho Rios, and SHE is careful about being out at night, etc.
We are an older couple - mid 50's - so the nightlife & adventure seeking will be minimal.
We're gonna do the Marley tour - I know the Rasta's won't try & gouge the shit out of me for some weed. Going to be nice not to have somebody ask for hundreds of dollars just to sell me some herb.
Anyway - thanks everyone for all your input - Stinkymutt, I'll be posting some pics of my own & we'll compare notes.

We are back - sorry for no updates, but combo of slow inet & not giving a rats ass about getting stuff done.
OK - weed review. I scored 3 times - every time I got good stuff & had our tour guides / resort employees to thank. Jamaica has decrim'd under 2 ounces for 7+ months now, so it's more open than you'd think
1st score - we did the Bob Marley childhood house & grave site tour. Our guide walked me thru the various vendors & to his trusted guy. That dude offered me "blueberry, pineapple & sativa - all sensi", 3 identical packages full of heavily seeded bud. He started at $120. I laughed & started to put my $$$ away. Our guide barked something at the vendor, he opened a different bag of "bags". That stuff was bigger count, much less seeded & I haggled to $40 (after de-seeding was still almost 1/2 oz). It was decent, not great, but decent. I smoked it all week & got high as fuck!
2nd score - one of the beach staff. $20 for 1/4 oz. Some seeds, but better than first batch. I ended up smoking that stuff for last couple days.
3rd score - "space" brownies. On a private tour, we saw vendor the driver knew & trusted. There was $10 & $20 option - I should have gotten the $20, but a decent body/brain stone was enjoyed for the $10.
I could have scored every day - the first person I asked (resort butler, awkward & a shitty butler) looked like I'd asked him to eat dogshit, but after that it was everywhere. That butler got less of a tip due to the way he looked & talked to me about my "request". I only asked for possible locations to score - didn't ask HIM for any or to get me any.
PS - I think some Karma helped me. 2nd day we walked down to Ocho Rios & met a very old Rasta street vendor - he had some sad veggies in bags & was selling them. He insisted we take some for free & I slipped him a $10 instead. Told him not charity, just 1 brother taking care of another brother. The weed fell into my hands after that.
All in all, I spent $60 for weed & $10 for cake. I had 1/4 oz left over on last day, but my puffing buddy on the resort (Hey, Will!) was taking the Marley tour, so I ended up flushing the extra herb.
Smuggled back 2 sets of seeds - from both batches. I "hooped" them, wrapped in multiple layers of plastic wrap.
It was amazing country - I may not have smoked the primo sativas, but I got blasted every day AND didn't get fucked over by someone trying to make $ by acting like they'd do me a HUGE favor.

So all in all you had a good time I assume ? Im looking at possibly October or November for a return . Im growing my seeds I brought home now (just cracked) . A near future trip depends totally on this summers garden doing well and patients liking the products . I have a whole lotta work ahead of me . Did you drink enough red stripe to get sick of it Orang . ?

Jamaica hella fun. 1st time stayed in the hood. Ganj at the airport in Kingston off the back 40 for a 1/4 of Alaskan thunder fuck I shit you not! We were trippn balls for hours! Took a road tour hit a t shirt shop same deal more skunk afg type. Last score before flight local brown collie, madblunts omg!
2nd trip went resort style, scored some Jam ice right out side the gate 20 for 1/8 shit was pretty dam dank blueish purple highlights. That sun is just awesome I wouldn't mind living there just to grow and share my genetics hehehe in more ways than one !

Orangutrump, We scored some very good organic ganja on our way up to the Bob Marley home trip too. Our guide, a rasta, took very good care of us too. He had the bus driver stop at a Jamaican store half way up the mountain for us to buy blue mountain coffee and rum without the tourist markup. We too had a great time in Ochie and we stayed at Sunset Grande. Had a great time walking down to the cruise boat docks and shops and watching the cruisers get drunk and stupid at Margaritaville bar. The ocean must make you real crazy once you hit land. Peace and respect Mon.
