Ordered a cool bong.
Description simply states joint size: "18.8"
So i order a custom bowl which is also 18.8.

Now i got the package and had to fucking pay 60 quid tax import duty on top of everythinging.

Anyway, i openm the package and the bong is there, stem - there, default bowl there, custom bowl there.

Only the downstem is not all 18.8. Ground portion is 18.8.... but the bowl piece is actually 14.5, so my fucking custom bowl does not fit.

I email them and tell em WTF they said it was 18.8 in the descritpion?

They sneakly edit their websit this morning and change the description of joint size from "18.8" to "18.8 ---> 14.5", email me and tell me i was wrong.

WHAT THE FUCK

And they refused to send me a new bowl in return for the old one so now i have to buy another bowl.

What a load of bollox.

That really SUCKS. And I ´ve noticed that (online) businesses change their prices willy nilly too. Heres´an example: Last december I bought a pair of shoes for about 14 EUR, which is also the regular price. Being on this companys mailing list I get regular emails telling me about special offers. Now, here´s the thing: I recently got one of those 10 % off emails and checked out the same item(s) I had purchased before and guess what? The same pair of shoes was suddenly priced at about 20 EUR!
Now 20 EUR - 10%= 18 EUR.
Just an example of how you cannot really trust the special offers. The same marketing method happens in high street shops. It´s not a recent at all.

Bollocks indeed!!!

BTW what is the customs tax in the UK these days?

PS. This is just Brexit in real-life action. The people who voted for it didn´t even consider this sort of thing.

Find a cashed (sp) version of the site. Many will be copies up to 24 hours old. You can then screen grab.

Edit: I have never visited their site, or I would disconnect and surf my temp files offline, without fear of them refreshing

Link the page here, so other users can disconnect then click on it

That's extremely odd.german roors are very strict on quality control.what you can do is get an 18,8 converter to 14,4 stem or whatever it's called.i forgot.i haven't bought glass in years but do some research.you can fit that custom slide, but you'll have to buy another piece but it's gonna cost maybe 70 us dollars or whatever they cost these days.lol sorry man!

hi @vshithawk420 , I don´t even know what ` roors´ stands for , but from I gathered , the equation of german= qualtiy in general hasn´t been true for mnny years :(

That's exactly what I was thinking cuddles.qaulity everywhere has gone to shit.im surprised they didn't accommodate him.thats pretty shitty.

I'm not in the glass scene anymore but you can still get decent American glass but you will pay for it.im not spending 300 to 500 on something will more than likely break.
I sold my friend a GSpot bong a few years ago.i wanted to buy it back and he was gonna give it back but he recently broke it!lol it was German made too.

yeah, exactly. Back when in the `old days´ manufacturers prided themselves in making products that lasted s long time. Come the late 1980´s - early 1990´s however, they went all flipside. ie offer products that sell quickly and break down just as quickly :( Oh and, btw, as I discovered only recently, just because a reputable manufacturer of houshold appliances has a website, well I don´t mean they have have decent customer service!

Yeah,it sounds like a customer service issue.

I own a 2001 VW Passat by the way but I don't have the money to fix it! It's still in good condition though so I haven't junked it! Lol it's hard to find people who will work on European cars here.

100s for no innovation. There is so much you could do within the chamber, from wet media to fountain pumps. With more use of common lab parts for the glass parts. My bong is a traditional coke bottle shape, and you could beat somebody with it. The test of all good bongs lol

Lol on the website of the GSpot bong I bought they got a got a karate guy breaking boards and another guy hammering nails with the tank joint.it still broke after almost 10 years.longrst time I had a glass piece.glass breaks.period.ive broke countless glass pipes.not cause I'm clumsy either.theres always a weak spot somewhere with glass.thats just how it is.

I know what you mean. I had a japanese car and it became ever so hard to find spare parts for it over here in old europe. Don´t tell me that politics plays no role in the car) industry :(

are you in the US? americans have been sort of `trained ´ to hate anything european since the G.W. Bush days. Maybe that´s why car mechanics don´t wanna help you out ?

Yeah,I live in the US but I live in the country.and the problem is it takes a lot of work to fix cars with a simple problem.for example my VW.it might just need a gasket but you have to lift the whole engine to get to it.so most people would just pay a VW dealership to fix it for $1000. When it's only $50 if I do it myself.they build cars like that on purpose.THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO FIX THINGS YOURSELF!! all companies are like this.

lol, My GSpot bong is still going strong but the 2001 VW Bug I had will be my last VW ever!!!! The remote latch to access the gas tank stopped working after the 1st yr so there was NO WAY to fill 'er up and they wanted $400 (2002 dollas) to fix and you nailed it, the reason it was so expensive was that the cable was threaded in such a convoluted way that they had to tear the car apart to get to it!

Planned Obsolescence is at the very top of the list of my favorite Pet Peeves, DON'T GET ME STARTED!! :lightning:

The car I got after the VW was a 2005 Toyota, runs great, no major repairs/replacements ever. This one's a keeper! ;)

Now that I've got my thinking cap on, Hubble.why don't you take a pic of the signature on the bong and maybe we could ID the blower.unless things have changed I know for a fact there is one on the bong.you could massage him and I would put my money on it and he would set things straight.hes an artist and wouldn't wanna ruin his reputation.

Just a thought.

unless he or she sold it in bulk to a wholesaler, who then sold it to a shop.....lots of insulation, and the maker did what they were supposed to, the parts were put together by the seller, imo, not the maker. you should look up glass studios near you and visit, might be amazed at the prices straight from the maker. they couls make you a new bowl in 10 minutes and you would peobably have new friends as most lampworkers i know burn.....
