Hi,

It was ok until a couple of days ago. It is 4 weeks from seed. It was grown in DWC and had algae problem so i transplanted it to soil. its been in soil for 2 weeks now. It looked good and was showing nice growth until a couple of days ago. All the leaves are droopy and wrinkled. The stems are purple and leaves are yellowing from the bottom. Even the new growth are droopy.
I tried to upload pictures, but i think this feature is not working at the moment....

Sounds like your soil doesn't drain well enough and you are getting an overwatered condition. This leads to N lockout, which causes yellowing lower growth. Soil should be mixed with at least 30% perlite, or use coco coir which drains perfect and doesn't need perlite.

Going from hydro to soil (or vice versa) is never a good idea because the plants grew water roots, thick and large, developed to take advantage of the large amounts of water present in DWC. Now in soil, the plant needs to grow root hairs to seek out and absorb moisture and nutes from soil. This could also cause the droopy plants because the roots are not very good at obtaining water.

Pix of these plants would definitely help with the diagnosis.

BTW, the pix of plants in your gallery show fert burn and Mag deficiency (yellowing leaves with dark green veins)

Anyone having trouble uploading new pictures? Seems like the "Upload Pics" is temporarily off...

The soil now has been wet for 2 days...yea, i think it is not sucking any water from soil...i will mix the soil with perlite when i transplant it to a one gallon pot in a few days.

How many weeks should i veg it more if i can only transplant it to a 1 gallon pot? Or should i transplant it and then make it flower right away to avoid root bound? I can only up 1 gallon pots because of space issues....

This time, i started in hydro as before, but somehow, the water is diferent than before. I am still using a small filter to filter the tap water like before, but all my previous plants died of root problems recently. I have no idea why. The ppm for water is 65. After the filter is 85. Is this normal??

So i had to buy new seeds and grow new plants. I thought it was something i done wrong, but then, the seedlings all died too. The roots were covered with semi-milky-clear jelly thing and were stunting the root growth. Most of the plants had grown fish-bone like roots, not growing longer all together...so in order to save the remaining plants i had to transfer them to soil.

Anywyas, i hope they can fix the picture upload feature so i can post the new pics soon.

Sounds like root rot from not enough circulation/aeration in your dwc buckets.

I don't know if those plants will be able to adapt to soil after starting in water. I hope so, but it doesn't look good that the roots are sitting in wet soil and after two days they don't seem to be taking any out of the soil. Those roots don't sound like they are functioning in the soil. Only thing to do is wait it out after adding the perlite (I would transplant asap- they may be dead in 2 days sitting in waterlogged soil) and hope for the best.

I'd recommend soil growing until you are comfortable and get a couple crops under your belt, learn the plants and the process, then perhaps try some kind of hydro rig.

Keep in mind that if you lose power in a hydro rig you could lose your entire crop in a half hour or so. Once the circulation air/water pump stops, they will either drown in stagnant water or dry out from no water at all. Soil growing is a lot less complicated.

As for what went wrong, Stitch here is the hydro honey, so maybe she can explain what went wrong better than me.

Throw away that crap filter you are using. It's probably one of them brita filters. If you start with 65ppm and after filtering it's 85, theres a problem. Why would you want to filter 65 ppm anyhow? That's the lowest I've ever heard coming straight out of the tap. What is the source of your tap water? Is it city water, or well water?

Ya 65 ppm is perfectly fine to use for hydro dude; I would be hella happy with that shit; hydro peeps have to get RO systems nearly all the time since there water is hard or they have to go to there store and cart it home, be proud you got that clean water
