ISO Extraction... Hash Oils

For years, I've been making hash oils. Here's what you need:

2 glass coffee/pyrex pots, a few bottles of 91% or better isopropatol alcohol, coffee filters, small strainer, and the vaporbong waste/cashed/leftovers/clippings/buds/stems.....



Pre-heat your ELECTRIC/NON-GAS BURNING STOVE to medium....



Put the herb in the coffee pot....



Fill it with isopropatol alcohol....



Bring the mixture to a slow rolling boil stirring every couple of minutes for about a half hour... when you stir, blow off the evaporating isopropatol alcohol...



When your "soloution" has evaporated about 60% in the coffee pot (about 30 minutes of slow boiling) take your extra glass bowl and put the coffee filter in the strainer...



Put the filter inside the small strainer, and hold it over the empty coffee pot...



Pour the isopropatol alcohol mixture into the filter...



Close up the filter and give it a good squeeze...



This will leave only a clean greenish/golden liquid in the 2nd glass container and the herb in the coffee filter/1st glass container. Disgard the herb and filter... or run it again.



Now you cook the greenish/golden liquid in the 2nd glass container on low heat, blowing on the mixture when you stir to evapotate even more of the isopropatol alcohol.



Keep an eye on your oil as the final layer left on the bottom of the coffee pot is what you want... don't burn it all up thinking you're still evaporating the isopropatol alcohol...



When the oils start cooking, it's already done...



Grab a razor blade and a safty pin... oh baby!

What kind of yields do you get?

The batch you see... I just ran... prolly about 3 ounces of vapor waste... you lookin' at minimum... 15 grams of hash oils in the last picture... it was high octane... mostly Sour Cali and Petrol... lol

and it only took me an hour... but it stinks

Good Job Zep,
On a side note,ya can take the heat rite outta it,soak in "Heet" which is straight Isopropyl,leave overnite or longer,take resulting strained mass and dump on an old mirror,iso will evap and yer left with the goods!

No disrespect zepp, but just how safe can it really be to smoke
that stuff? I'm even a bit leary about butane extraction as it seems too
possible for remnants to be left behind. What if it didn't all evaporate/cook off, etc.etc.etc.????????

Wouldn't it be better to use a cleaner, more natural method like ice extraction?

Wow awsome, I always wondered what to do with the leftover waste from my volcano. Its a good thing i have saved a bunch. I just ran my bublebags last week and have a good stash. I have about 95 grams of vapor waste... Can the vapor waste go into bubblebags? If not i will probably try a run of this and see how it compares to my bubble. Sure does seem easy. Peace

Yes Wrecked, it's very easy and safe... unless you use a gas stove, of course, which I have done several times as well. It is clean/pure and the taste is prime..sweet hash oils.. very yummy... DG, I cooked this batch a little too long as you can tell by the "tar" type of look it has (maybe only a minute or 2, so keep an eye on it)....

Dutchgrown & Big.... I must add I don't smoke anything.... I do however vaporize, and it's basically impossible to vap oils but can be done with one hell of a mess... I do cook honey butter shots, cookies, brownies, tea, coffee, coco, sauces, fondues, etc. with my oil (thank you Dr. Jay, God love you). Just want to add that the vapordust will NOT make bubble hash.

there was nothing wrong with the last lot and imo your method is cleaner than using butane ,last butane batch i got kept flaring up as if there was lots of butane still there ,,,

Dutchgrown.... I think smoking butane oil is safer then smoking a bowl with a butane lighter. If you heat the oil on a spoon (in order to mix with your herb) regarless if iso or butane solvet was used, the solvents should disapate leaving solvent free oil. As for cleaning the tar out of iso hash , there are ways of doing that as well. I really enjoy smoking and eating oil. Once you make your first match of killer oil you will be hooked.
Zep...nice simple method of making iso oil. I do agree that doing this over a gas stove would not be wise, electric stoves or hotplates are alot safer.
