I've got two labs that love the water and 1 little lap dog that hates it.

My water lovers hit up the rivers, lakes, and puddles but only up to their knees. They love to watch the shower but don't like to get sprayed though...

My other little one stays far away from water at all costs.

I own a pitbull that you cant keep out of the pond and LOVES the snow. But say tub, bath, shower, soap, or anything related and she becomes the biggest baby.

hahaha.. I mentioned the word "Bath" to my dog, and the big guy puts his tail between his legs and laysdown where ever he is, or usually goes to his doggy bed.

He's so damn cute but HATES the bath..loves the ocean, though!

my pitbull's get bathes every week, they are inside dogs and i ahte it when my hosue stinks like dog... so i put them in the bath tub and hose them down. I use baby shampoo on them so it's not to harsh on their skin. My female don't enjoy it a lot but she has no choice lol. but my male he loves it... he's realized that the water is nice and warma nd he'll stand under the water when the shower is one to keep warm, he hops in with me sometimes too lol. I'f say showering your dog is best to start as a puppy so they are used to it. cause if you try later on they may freak out and you may end up on your butt lol. My mom tried to wash her dog(lab x husky x rotty) and there was no way he was getting in teh tub... lol

You know its weird. Our two dogs both LOVE water. Anything they find, be it the smallest puddle, they will rock out in (the one will even lie in the smallest puddle she can find). Fountains, ponds, they will go straight for it (again the one loves to immerse herself in the water). Yet they both hate showers. I don't know if it's the hot water, or the unnatural feel of it but they really dislike showers.

probably like my female... it's cause theya ren't in control... my female loves the water... but when i make her get in it's a different story... she'll try to hop right bac out... yet will spend hourse in a mudd filled pond lol. i think it's mostly the fact you are making them do something... and they aren't choosing to go get wet on their own

she loves the shower,,but wont go swimming in the river...maybe the cold?....she loves the hair dryer aswell...i use this to dry her in the winter,
My Dog was the polar opposite..ponds, rushing creeks, puddles..would jump in like a duck...she was half Lab/ half golden retreiver...but if she stuck her head out the door and felt a drop of rain..it was right back in the house...and forget a shower or a bath...that was not going to happen...

i had a black lab for fifteen years, great dog. take him duck hunting in the WORST weather, he was in the water. get bored, retrieve decoys, chase coots etc. but a bath? spray him with warm water from the hose in july & his tail would go up his a$$ trying to stay dry! he would go out in a raging thunderstorm & play frisbee with me, but a bath/shower was out of the question... go figure!
