Is there something to prevent stretching?

B. Friendly,
Unfortunately he is no longer making any fertilizers, he has gotten up there in age. The retail version he put out was called Jerry's Grow, pic posted at the bottom. A homemade version could be whipped up with little more then some Dyna-Gro or CNS-17 ferts and methanol. I will get something together on that side by side comparison, please don't hold your breath though as it will be at least 2 months before I can get anything new up and going. AgD

Never heard of adding alcohol to mj plants....interesting. Maybe I'll try it someday.

Open Sesame from Fox Farm claims to kick plants over to bloom faster and minimize elongation (stretching). Def not organic tho.

I've heard of it but not with MJ. It'd be interesting to see a side-by-side done with some stretchy cuts.

I've been using bushmaster for over 2 years and can tell you that I have seen it stop vertical growth overnight! I agree that with some strains I've noticed a slight decrease in trichs, but the yield is usually increased by at least 10%. You definitely have to play around with the doses to find what amount works best with certain strains....it's powerful! Also, it's supposed to kick the plants' hormones into flower..so it's supposed to be used in the first 2 weeks of flower. Not sure if you would want to use this if you're trying to stop stretching in veg.

Good Luck

I suggest following the "Ft. Bragg" directions on the bottle of Bushmaster, feed her 3ml/gal or whatever you feel comfortable using and then 8 hours later flush the hell out of your girl. I did it this way, it stopped all growth on my SSH overnight, turned her into a huge 6 oz bush, and no type of burning at all. I believe the no burning was because I flushed her after dosing her. I grow in soil(5 gallon bucket of pro-mix) so first I gave her a gallon water with 3ml of Bushmaster in it, then 8 hours later I pushed like 2.5 gallons of water through her and sucked the run-off up with a shop-vac. Observed her for a week and then started feeding again with bloom ferts.

I also dont think it affected the amount of resin but might have delayed the resin a bit from appearing. It did seem to take awhile. Super Silver Haze is the only strain I have tried BM on so far but Im excited to try it on some more super sativas so I can grow them indoor.

I dont think it made her finish any faster, she was the mom seedplant and went over 15 weeks of 12/12 and Id say 13 weeks of flowering(the clones look like they will finish faster). It did seem to initiate flowering in clusters faster though. Next I will be trying BM on Sams OH X Sk#1 if the stretch gets crazy like I expect it will.

stretch is related to strain. i cant seem to control it. but my clones stretch less than seed plants.

Bud Bug

I know this was a joke, but im wondering if it could be used to slow down grass growth. Hate cutting that shit.

The hormone in the chemical does not affect grass only certain kind of plant types/species.

There are also a lot of these products around

Dr Nodes
Top Load
Phosphoload
Mega Bud

They all contain Paclobutrazol which is what keeps the plants from growing vertically. I have seen it from several grows that it can reduce the amount of resin on a plants but seems to be with certain strains.

Ive noticed the same thing with moms(seedplant) and clones, the clones stretch a little less and finish a little faster from what Ive seen with the few strains Ive took cuts from.

You can control that stretch with BM, I know it sounds like voodoo, but the stuff really works. There are actually a lot of companies making a kelp based product like BM.
