Found male flower at the end of flowering in lower branch that doesn't receive light directly. I like plant and plan to make her mother. Is it worth it?
Hi maimunji,
Inspect carefully for light leaks in your flowering area. If you have an obvious explanation for the herm...then the girl could still make a good clone momma.
But otherwise...if it is a herm prone plant, then you'll be fighting that tendency in all future grows with that genetics.
Personally I'd keep looking for a good steady clone mother.

I agree if it has the tendency to herm I wouldnt use her in future breeding projects myself. I guess it just depends what you have in mind for her. Are you growing for production? Personal use? Looking for mother as in for breeding projects?
No breeding I just looking for mother and want to run small 4x4 tent with clones. It is possible to have light leak I running my light on at night. Found another one plant pop banana on lower branch.
A lot of female plants will throw a few bananas here and there late in flowering. I have a few strains that do this and I have never found a seed. Most of the time I pick em off and crush them. If they have yellow powered pollen inside, I'd probably cull her. Most of the time, you'll find that there is no pollen inside and it will just be moist when you crush it. That's my experience with bananas...
no problem. Some of my favorite strains throw 'nanners on lower buds late in flower. C99 flowers usually have a nanner or two by the end of flowering, it's not known as a hermi strain.
Open, pollen-producing sacs are a different story. I have some NL and Blueberry seeds that will produce pollen flowers on the lower buds if stressed at all. I still like them, so I remove all the lowest bud sites at the start of flower to avoid it.
Recently I flowered 4 plants in the same 4X4 tent. during flowering I changed to a different spectrum lamp. It must have shocked the plants, all 4 had pollen-producing flowers on the lower buds. None of them had ever hermi'd before. So stress can do it to just about any plant IMO.
this is another reason why I place the carbon filter on the floor of the tent. It sucks downward and if any pollen is produced down low, it goes right into the filter and doesn't make seeds.
