HELL YEAH YOU CAN... I AM A PLUMBER, AND IT WILL WORK AS LONG AS ITS ONLY A VENT STACK... DONT WANT WASTE GOING BACK TRU INTO UR GROW.... ONLY PROUBLEM I SEE IS SEWER GAS... WICH MEAN THE FAN WOULD HAVE TO RUN 24 /7 OR SOME OTHER WAY TO BLOCK SEWER GAS... YOU DONT WANT TO TAPE INTO A PIPE THATS IS LOWER THAN THE HIGEST FIXTURE... IF YOU DO AND THE SEWER EVER BACK UP.... UR GROW WILL GET FLOODED.

a backdraft valve on the pipe and a backup fan ready to go on the pipe in case of the first one failing might be two precautions to take

yeah i forgot you could install a back flow preventer wich would keep waste from coming back into the grow

my bad i didnt read the first post to good but yeah it coukld be done... not shure if your grow is in a basement or not... but you could hook your exhaust to the toilet bowl after you get the water out and find a way to seal it.... but like i said ur fan would have to run 24/7 to keep sewer gas from coming in.... if the toilet is over head you could tie into that line and install a back flow preventer then tie it to your exhaust... not shure what kind of pipe you have pvc abs or cast iron if its platic thats easy to do if its cast iron your going to have to do a lil work but still not to hard.

was jut looking at that and from what i can see its not made to keep back water wich he going to have if he ties into a waste line i woould rather install a back water valve instead its made to let water flow in one deirction only. but i still need more info on where his grow is at and bathrooms, attic ect ect i bet there is an easer way to vent his grow... me i live in a double wide so realy i got it made all i got to do is just cut a hole in the floor and vent under the trailer.... if he realys want to try it, just pull the toilet up and hook the vent to the toilet flange. if he could tie into a vent stack now that lil thing might work just fine since very lil water go's tru a vent stack.. i take it from what he trying to do is vent tru the sewer hoping that will hide his grow ordor wich it might unless he got some realy skunky weed then i dont think it will help a lot other than sending the ordor up tru his roof and above his house...
but to let very one know if you vent into a sewer line or waste line the air will go to the vent stack and out the top of your house...thats the end of plumbing lesson one come back tommor for lesson number 2 how to remove a dead rotten possium from you sewer line and how to remove tampons from a stop up toilet lol and if ya guy realy want i can tell ya how to please the poor lil deprived house wife wich is my fav. ohhhhhhhhhh mr plumber man what a big pipe whrech you have and its so hard lmao :yummy:

I tried something similar to this and exhausted into my sewer trap.

I used a backflow valve which prevented any sewage from coming back up, however I ran into a major snag.

Most sewers in my area of the country (mine included) have a vent pipe off the sewer line, I can only assume to prevent pressure build up. This vent goes right to the front of the house, so soon after trying this idea I began to smell flower plants whenever I walked by the front of my house.

Since I live in an urban area (neighbors are 5 feet away from me on each side), this was obviously unacceptable and I ditched the idea and went back to a carbon filter.

dont know why they would vent the sewer like that i am in the south and the only vents are on the houses them selfs but yeah i didnt think sewer gas is stroung anought to cover some of the skunks running around only reson i see useing it to vent my grow would be to put the smell about the house hoping it wouild not be noticed but all it take is one person to say some thing to the cops so i woild rather play it safe and since i dont run a scrubber i just stick with low oder strains like my ak47x bb

I knew someone who dug out a room under their house (raised wood foundation). The outbound air went into the main sewer pipe. Never had a problem I know of, but maybe the fan was 24/7

YEAH YOU HAVE TO HAVE A WAY TO HOLD SEWER GAS FROM COMING BACK INSIDE THE HOUSE ITS A HEATLH ISSUSE , COMING UP WITH A WAY TO KEEP THE GAS OUT SHOPULD BE EASY THING TO DO. IF I HAD A BASE MENT YOU COULD COUNT ON ME TIEING INTO THE PLUMBING TO VENT MY GROW BUT ONE DANGER WITH SEWERS THEY SOME TIME GET MEHTANE GAS AND THAT YOU DONT WANT UR GROW WOULD TRUN INTO A BOMB. :yoinks:

all homes as far as i know are vented with whats called a "stack" all of our main drains are vented up above the roof. there will always be build of sewer gases and these gases are vented up through the stack, a bit redundant eh. anyway, your toilets and sinks are protected from gases by the use of of p traps. under ground there is also a ptrap which means that if you vent your grow in to the sewer the airflow will not go into the sewer at all, it will go up the vent stack and out your roof. please be aware of that . this was a big thread over at overgrow , think it was in the faq's , here is a link to it with pics http://www.drugs-forum.com/growfaq/1457.htm g'luck
