Is it OK to use lemon juice to get PH down?

i am a new grower and my first grow will be started in soil i have a bottle of lemon juice for ph down hope it works
Make sure you get a PH kit bro*My very first mistake was getting my clones to root in rockwool, and was a huge rookie move not knowing that rockwool is naturally SUPER HIGH already in PH and you have to pre make a bowl of very low PH like 5.5ph.
LOL I tried getting them to root for THREE WEEKS! they would not root because the PH was so high.
Definitely keep in touch on here and we will walk you through how and what to do. Also most importantly make sure you have a dome too for clones or seeding.
your already ahead of the game by coming on here as I just am now. I wish I had read other peoples advise like Iron_Lion

I ran out and have been using 100% Lemon juice, and instead of the $12 price tag of PH down (General Hydroponics Brand). Been using a week and nothing has changed other than the thickness of my wallet.
Also I really would like to Thank you for what you said, Because it is so true...
''it is not good to pass around bad information, over time people might start to believe it as truth.'' SO TRUE!
Your BUDS look amazing!! What are they?? Just got my permit to grow and smoke in Massachusetts ($250) just to have a doctor even see you never mind sign off on it...I have G13, Purple Kush, Lemon Kush and Random Sh-wag Bag seed (Female) waiting to see what comes out as a surprise :)

ph up & down in soil

ph up & down in soil

I disagree with this statement, if growing in soil there is no harm in using lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to adjust pH. I have used white and apple cider vinegar for years and my plants grow to picture perfect health. besides, hydro store ph buffers are full of salts and chemicals, why would you want to dump that crap on your buds. And as far as cost is concerned you cannot get much cheaper than $1.70 for a gallon of vinegar. it is not good to pass around bad information, over time people might start to believe it as truth.

these plants all seem to like their vinegar.

I completely agree and have only used either apple cider or white vinegar for 25+yrs.with great results with both veg & flower stage. Many different strains & all loved it. If ever needed ph to go up.. baking soda works well. Veg & flower all get the same ph. Also I only ever feed my girls for the first 3 weeks then they only get 6-6.3ph water for the next 5-7wks varying on the strain. I think a lot of people get caught up in all the hype and make it much more complicated than it really is.

So Iron_Lion, basically you're saying with the photos, "Put that in your pipe and smoke it?" I would comply if it were possible. I agree about the vinegar, but I would use Apple Cider Vinegar with the "Mother [live cultures]." That's the one with the crap in the bottom of the jar. More expensive than reg vinegar, but still cheap, with good probiotics. Good luck. -granger

If you dont like salts use organic aloe vera juice only the refridgerated one. The shelved one has tons sugar.. lots benefits also.

i use lemon juice every watering. I wait and put it in just before feeding and its free from my tree. The ph down is phos. acid and will bind up calcium and suck during the end when you want to finish. I just use catalyst, lemon juice and filtered water.
smells fantastic too. Oh and its organic not synthetic.

i rooted a clone also with lemon juice, vitamin B-1 and ff big bloom only
No gel at all. No ph down
i only use fox farm big bloom (best) and tiger bloom and catalyst and lemon.
Growing a plant anyone can do with any fert.
The blooming is messed up by doing too much. The big bloom is more feed for the bud at 4 table spoons per gallon. The catalyst brings out the taste and smell. The kelp in it covers any missing link in your fert.
Good luck
