Yeah, i'm just a micro-grower so if you have a big op then maybe this won't hold true but every time i've had a gnat infestation i've only needed the yellow sticky tape traps to get rid of them.

The thing is that thier life-cycle is short, 5 or 6 days I think, and only the adults lay eggs, that would be the flyers, so it might take a week or more but eventually, all the eggs hatch, become larvae and then flyers where they will be trapped before they are able to lay more eggs.

Anyway, I always have yellow sticky tape traps hangin' around and the minute I see a single gnat I hang them up.

Good luck, SOG

Update

Good news. I did found another version of mosquito dunks on amazon.de (link). It contains - Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis - which as far as I searched the ICMAg is the agent that kills the damn thing.

However....Ive just talked over the phone to agrotech expert in some local pest-control company and shes going to send me some predator nematodes and as far as I know nematodes is some of the best way to deal with gnats. Ive only heard good stuff about them and how fast they work.

:dance013:

PS: i knew someones gonna trip over my nick :D who should I write to have it changed ?

I used stickys but still there were some flies doing their business as usual or they didn't even fly, they walked on the coco surface

Yeah, the sticky tape can take a couple of weeks to work especially if you have a well established infestation so they are most effective when used as soon as you start to see gnats. ...it takes a while to thoroughly interrupt thier life-cycle so fewer and fewer make it to lay eggs, it ISN'T an instant fix.

Peace, SOG

Use neem oil as a coco drench, put up sticky yellow traps to get the flyers. Fog with pyrethum.

All of these items are available in the E.U.
