I've not seen the real s8 for over 10 years. I lost mine years ago.

Funny you say pikey rhino. My mates Rhine from back in the day was from a group of London pikeys!

I'm sure if the s8 sifted has turns out legit we shall see it being passed around. Gens like the s8 need to be backed up massively. It would put any of the elite ogs to shame. Both taste and growth / yield.

Ha,ha,actually your descrip sounded very similar!

Esp with the black fingers, after breaking up enough for a joint i would end up with enough resin stuck to my fingers to roll a pretty long snake of hash.

I haven't seen it either since the end of 2003.

I agree - prefer it to any OG I've tried, in terms of facemelting ability and expansive smoke.

Fully agree on the long rocksolid limegreen colas with sparse thin dark red hairs. Reminds me of Fire OG or SFV in bud structure.

Peace

well you will know the discount lads. they had it back in the day. they lost it a long time back.
the source they got it from is the same circle as the guy mine came from. I used to buy loads of it in the time they had it. so I know the weed well.

one of my friends grew it till he stopped and moved away. but since all that I picked up the odd oz here and there but never found the cut.
it still gets sold around here occasionally but not often. so its still around.

its taken 2 years of speaking to this guy to actually get hold of some. ive been told shes been through a lot. its gotta be nearly 20years old. it may have diminished in that time. who knows.
fingers crossed.

even if it isn't it il get it eventually... I don't give up that easy!

I remember when I first smoked it with my mate.. we had smoked already a few years at this point... we made a j between the pair of us. we were so stonned and nauseous we kept saying ''this is too much'' it was powerful. one thing I will say though, is that you can build up a tolerance after smoking it a few days heavily. but I think that's common with some of the white strains.

tbh ive found it very vigorous, fast vegging etc. they said they gave her a few summers outdoors which they said helped. whether that process holds merit or not I really don't know.

but yup ive got the cs spray handy already lol

I have to say that Discount have been the biggest source of fake s8 cuts for me. Everytime it was, yeah this is the real deal this time. And Everytime I got a really viney growing generic rhino that yielded small hard buds, no colas, and had quite a boring bland taste and stone.

Certainly not the bad boy S8 that I remember so fondly.

The real S8 I got back in the day came from a dude called Marlon and came complete with my first ever dose of Mites. But was well worth it. Several people puked in my back garden from that.

I had shots up on overgrow but don't have originals anymore.

i dont know a marlon... but ive had the same experience with discount... they still put out a lot of shit... we have had that rhino. we call it spearmint rhino or mock rhino. its junk.

its my understanding that originally the cut was given to them/bob as part of a deal involving lots of growing equipment.. the guy who gave it to them soon regretted it but buy that time it was too late. im pretty sure it was due to them(discount) that it spread around those sussex towns. when the bald guy was in charge there they used to shift them by the tray load.

to try to find it ive kinda worked backwards to try to find out the sources etc. every time it lead back to rye/folkstone area.

so im quite confident that this is where it first was found.
ive also been told that id was a rhino from the old greenhouse but im not sure that's true.
the guy I got this from recons they had it 20years and that is actually another skunk number one pheno from the late 80s.
eitherway mine has the double leaf serrations so it may have cheese in it or it might be a rhino cross or just straight rhino. i really don't know.

the smells im getting are changing daily but in the finished bud i get: pine/ earth predominantly, then antiseptic type smell and a distinct floral smell. sometimes a slight lime metallic taste and smell too?

i definitely smell those evolving so im hoping they continue to develop.

Yeah those leafs look familiar. I used to find if had the typical rhino earthy uber pineyness but with the antiseptic cheese edge and a fair bit of musk like scent.

Yeah when John and Dave used to work discount is where I got the sunlight systems info from. John showed me the sunlight catalogue, old then, and s8 was a rhino cheese cross.

Whether that is what we know as terminator s8 who knows.

Could well be an old skunk cut from the 80s. There used to be some special cuts come out of rye area. Had an awesom widow once the likes of I've never seen since. Quite dark green diamond like buds but with HUGE crystals.

There is also an old skunk cut from south East London called Trippy Tarka that is very very similar to cheese but a bit more meaty if that makes sense, but those kats would never share the cut. Was a nice smoke, if you were into the cheese type of smoke.

I know theres a guy on the forums called half baked.. I remember him saying he got a London rhino cut that had a beef smell..

im not sure about the whole sunlight systems thing...you might be right I don't know for certain. discount probably didn't know what it was because it was just passed to them. I know they have a few shops around up north(sunlight) but Im pretty certain they had nothing to do with the s8. a younger family member of the guy who supposedly found it was quite annoyed that different people had try to claim it as there own work. so I felt compelled to believe him..he seemed genuinely annoyed about it. although like with so many stories who knows??

all I can definitely say from my own experiences is that discount were passing it around 2001, I remember going in there then. my mate was also growing it from there at the same time. I know that it moved around Eastbourne, brighton, hastings and Bexhill around that time..
I know commy growers around folkstone had it at the same time-I think that may be where piff came across it. as they produced a lot.
but everytime ive worked my way through people it always comes back to folkstone/kent area.
and that's also where the guys who claim to have found it are also from. so putting 2 and 2 together it seems that is the case.

like you say it has elements of cheese in its genetics I think.. and im pretty sure that around that time rhino was flooding the market and there are probably loads of rhino cuts which were passed around. there is the chino that goes around aswell which is cheese x rhino.

either way il know it when I taste/smell it. I know is done in 8 weeks but il take it to nine I reckon. if it is the real one it should put some people on the floor at 9 weeks lol

im pretty sure its either old greenhouse/ aka mr nice old stock white rhino, or might even be an exodus sis (its been put out there before) or as herb says might be a great rhino cut x with cheese. no evidence of anything else so far.

You guys know much more about old school UK originated elites then me so hopefully we'll work out together somehow what this clone is. Cut been taken to France but coming back to UK next week.

From what my mate told me she needs about 55 days and have that typical skunky smell, it's all i know...but... here is some pix to help:
