do peeps still hold the Chem D (with the leaf streak)? or is it too passe these days?

thats a favorite of mine.

trying to reverse the amnesia cut atm, thought it wasnt going to happen but seems there are some male flowers forming now... better late than never, lets hope they have viable pollen

VG

I think I have it,if you can show me a pic of the 'leaf streak' (does it affect one side of the vein whilst leaving the other side green?) I can confirm and you may be able to give me some clues on how long this girl takes to bloom, and how I can get it to you..

If you can help, plz Holler!
Thanks fellas

I know someone who holds it.

hey herb long time! hope you well too, all good here except for brexit blues lol..

..

this is a C4D leaf but it has inherited the leaf streak from the chem D and it looks very similar. the Chem D wants at least 10 weeks, some take her 12.

the leaf streak diminishes if you add extra magnesium but personally i find it smokes better if you run her pretty lean and live with the streak. the D that herb was talking about last page was very hungry during flowering and turned out just amazingly smooth smoking, very strong smelling and super potent!

Hey there VG, just wondering do you make your own CS or are you buying it from a shop/online? Do you have any recommendations as to which ppm CS works best?

What are you planning to cross the amnesia to? I would definitely purchase a couple packs of amnesia s1's if you were to make and release them :)

hey blazee ive used 25 and 45 ppm and i havent had any better results with the 45 - although i used it on different cuts so hard to draw any conclusions from that..

my initial aim with the amnesia was just to see if it would produce pollen, i have male flowers so that is a start but i got those on the chem D a while back bit absolutely no pollen (although i have been told that it is possible)
initially i would defo make some S1s and then think about crosses - ive been told that the amnesia is a ssh cut so it may not breed very true.

.

Well I found it, thanks to the brother who passed it me back.
You know who you are.
Could tell straight away from the leaf shape, plant structure and mosaic trait. Just got to root these suckers..

yah so this cut I received looks like a completely different plant to me..I am seeing a different colour, leaf shape and leaf-set.I hope this doesn't turn out to be a waste of time.

Yeah, does look somewhat different, lighter green
No leaf trait, diff structure etc.
Anyway I think ive saved that clone so ill let you know what
I think of it soon.

There is a weird leaf pattern of some sort, but it's not the same. The leaves look more leathery on the pic posted a page or so back, and the leaflets closest to the petiole were non symmetrical..I searched the whole plant and didn't find that mutation on even one leaf...with that said I have heard others saying Chem looks very different on a lean diet than she does when well fed (where apparently the leaves are darker and more leathery).I have always been a light feeder..but yeah I don't think it's the same plant.I did note though that the cut I have exhibits a leaf twist very similar to the GG#4.Maybe it's the sis?Honestly though who knows,I can't get close enough to it to get a proper sniff of it and don't know what chem sis smells/looks like either..I'll know if I'll keep her within the next couple of weeks anyway.[/COLOR]

Does the D show a twist like the glue does?
It's pretty much mid-way up the central 3 leaves of each 'hand',seems to show up most when it's been freshly recloned and under flourescent light, just like the glue.In true veg under HID it seems to grow out of it...problem is,even when this cut is fully flowered, cured and ready to smoke or sift,I'll still have no idea if it's what it's meant to be.I'm gonna need to find someone who knows the chem family who'll allow me to send them a vacced sample to assay and report back on.

PLOT TWIST (and leaf twist)

saw this today, seems to have shown up in the past week, there's another pic in my album showing more leaves with this and some variegation one side of the central vein... @mack 10 whaddya reckon?I'm staring to feel more optimistic.

There's no mistaking the meaty smell of the Chem D in the last couple of weeks of flowering mine started with leaf blotches and curl but after cloning a few times it lost it and grew totally green. It seemed to vary somewhat in growth but generally required quite a bit of tying up. I Grew the Chem Sis as well thought it was a bit sturdier but not quite as strong and meaty as the Chem D. Yhat leaf looks like one of the family but quite hard to tell which for sure. I found the Chem D to have some real running frosty buds by week 10 more so than the sis. Unfortunately its hard to be sure until quite late in flowering.

I've sampled dried blooms from this cut and I think I used that exact word when describing it to someone I recently passed it onto..It's definitely a savoury smell without a doubt. This cut is 5 weeks into bloom and has a weird growth habit on the top bud of each branch. The buds grow kind of lop-sided/offset,not straight up.It looks like it will produce some hefty top colas.

amnesia - still one of the best sativa dominant clones imo. this run faded out beautifully and i cant wait to smoke some. this was done under a 84watt led, organic soil.

beware using cinnamon oil in thrip remedies

beware using cinnamon oil in thrip remedies

When a super-fast hedgehog gave me the GG#4 at the first product earth expo,I also got something else which has been a recurring problem ever since..thrips. Somehow I had grown herb in my own little bubble of only selecting my own clones and never come across the little sods in 15 or more years of indoor gardens.

So,when I identified and came to terms with the fact I got thrips on the glue,I managed to get rid of them but recently have taken a couple of clones in and noticed the issue was recurring..so I consult Ed.Rosenthals pests and diseases book and mix up a remedy from a recipe I found there, just cinnamon oil and water..in the book it says use as a spray but I decided to dip the plants and this is where I fucked up..I realise now that because the oil was sitting on the waters surface in small slicks, that when I was removing the plants from the bucket, large (and what turned out to be lethal) amounts of cinnamon oil stuck to the leaves..The plants wilted almost immediately, and despite my best efforts to save them, died over the next few days.

I lost all my mothers, and some dj short flo females from seed which I hadn't had a chance to flower yet..I'm not over the moon about it and thought I'd post to warn others about using cinnamon oil without knowing exactly what you're doing.

Thrips I don't mind. Had issues with them on and off and other than making the plant look shit, didn't seem to cause much else issue. I think it was the GG#4 that brought me broad mites. They fucked everything.

if you are mixing oil with water, try adding a couple of drops of washing up liquid and then wizz it up with a blender - this emulsifies the oil nicely. its what i do with neem oil.

strangely i have had thrips on my plants in the last year and never before. they dont seem to get too bad but also hard to totally get rid of. im a gardener though so likely i often bring mites etc in myself.
