This model has been running my cabs for years with no problems.

I've yet to even have to replace a battery in 24+ months.

Hey, I'm only a lowly 400w'er though...

i can't help but notice that your not using the ground on that cord.
if that is your power supply, your playing with fire mang!
also those open air splices are not a good look, at all.
no offense, but i wouldn't be talking all that jive you are, with a rats nest of a wire job like that.
be safe and tidy that work up alittle.

your grammar is very bad so I seriously don't know what your trying to say half the time, but if your trying to say my setup is messy then ill just post a pic of it, also the ground is important for the light otherwise they wouldn't use them in commercially available UL-listed cord sets (to be UL listed they need a ground for the light and the ballast).

The UL stands for "Underwriters Laboratory". It used to be
an Insurance Industry organization, but now it is independent
and non-profit. It tests electrical components and equipment
for potential hazards. When something is UL-listed, that means
that the UL has tested the device, and it meets their requirements
for safety - ie: fire or shock hazard. It doesn't necessarily
mean that the device actually does what it's supposed to, just
that it probably won't kill you.

I just installed a brand new T101... an hour later I get a brown out/blackout due to a thunderstorm and realize this timer will not hold up during the rainy season here.. now Im gonna have to go buy a few digital timers with battery backups :fsu: Lesson learned.

don't think for a second that you don't need a ground in any instance.
it is still very important.
even at your reflector.
any metal parts near a live component need to be grounded.
hypothetically speaking, say your socket happens to ground out on it's metal holding bracket.
if you dont have the bracket grounded, it will become live.
that means if you happen to touch the metal housing at the reflector while its hot, you will get rolled on.
now mind you that a ballast is technically a transformer.
voltage to the light will be way higher than the 120/240v you put into it.
this shock will be one to remember for you.
you might possibly get killed from it too.
but hey, do what you want.
but remember clean work means less accidents.
trust me, for i am the icmag resident electrician.
ask anybody around here, they'll tell you that i know my shit.
