instant rep/+k?

I have noticed a few names went from basically no rep to a lot of rep?

now I usally do not start these threads, but this bothered me. reason being the 2 ive noticed right off hand are morons and now ppl that just come in here think they are rescepted members, but that is far from the truth.

also came to me that if these 2 can do this? how do i know others arent?

i take everything from here i can, but not w/o checking the facts for myself before doing anything.

Ah, grasshopper you have now no why the rep/kara system sucks and gets turned off on many boards.

In my opinion it serves little purpose and helps LEO pinpoint power posters.

maybe they post a lot in the wake and bake thread, that place is like a karma orgy lol.
someones karma really doesn't matter to me... but it used to make so much more sense on OG and it was somewhat meaningful.
i liked how on OG the rep would be divided into karma from the grower section of the forum, and then a karma from the tokers den section... IE (this user has 75% cultivating karma and 25% toker den karma) or something like that.

I think someone could possibly registr many different accounts and then use those said accounts to shoot himself K+ so maybe they actually did get rep points free to themselves. Some people are always trying to scam the system in place.Now this may or may NOT be true but it's a possibility I think.nuggler

you have to have a certain amount of posts to even give rep...not sure what the amount is but you just cant register and give rep..have to be here a while....I mean you can give rep, just doesnt count till you have been here awhile and have a certain amount of posts...does that make sense??...hehehe im ripped

I believe that you have to have 50 posts to give any rep that counts towards the totals. Under 50 posts, it shows up a different color and doesn't count.

...also some of you will remember from the OG days that posts in the "Lounge" (den) ...didnt count for shit....they didnt even add to your post count.

There are other forums that give you xtra rep power according to the number of posts you have. I saw 2 guys who gave rep to one guy who was begging for it and his rep went up over 100 points just from those 2. I am normally a post whore as I have little else to do, but I am glad that this site doesn't have those rules. Some of the oldtimers or turbo posters would be able to give 50-100 rep points each time.

The rep bars really don't matter. Most people know who the helpful folks are and who are the bullshitters. There are some highly skilled growers who have few rep bars because they change handles often and lose their rep and others who don't have much rep because people accept their help and never give thanks.

Most of my rep comes from the toker's den and comes from humor or serious discussions on politics,etc. My rep shouldn't be higher than someone who regularly helps folks with their grows. Main thing is that none of us should be posting for rep, but to help and discuss. I am a few points from the next bar and I don't care if I ever get there. It just isn't important.
