Inline pump newb.

To think of all the balancing circus acts I've pulled dumping my buckets since I switched to back single cell units... Watching this thing pull water is one of the most god damn satisfying experiences of my entire life. Crushes it. Fuckin' comical how this thing takes up water.

6.5hp is a fucking joke btw.

all manufacturers outright LIE when it comes to motor hp ratings.

this thing maby pulls 6.5hp worth of electricity for a 1/10th of a second.

Tree, why don't you make a nice manifold with valves for the vac or even a pump, and run a bunch of hoses to each individual bucket? Suck them all out or just a row at a time, etc. Then use the reverse blower feature to fill them right back up with fresh afterwords.

I know the struggles man, except draining the water never been my issue. My hands are worn out from carrying full 5 gal buckets around the last 3-4 years... I actually truck in all mine from town, a local park supervisor and a few friends let me back my truck up and fill up. 30 ppms from the city tap, any time i need. Water from our well is like 2-300, hard, and smells like sulfur, otherwise I would use it. Life would be easy if I had a good filtration system...sometimes I use rain water in a pinch, looking into bio sand filtration in the future.

I'm using a shurflo 12v to pump from from rv tanks in my truck up into my holding tank res. The other cool part about them is they have a pressure switch, so it senses when you open the valve and then kicks on. I also can hook up an inline garden hose filter for the chlorine if i need it right away. They def work good for the job

quee, ya that's true man, damn near everything is a lie these days. I prefer to manufacture my own, products that is!

Tree, why don't you make a nice manifold with valves for the vac or even a pump, and run a bunch of hoses to each individual bucket?

I suppose the biggest reason would be that I want my buckets to remain modular. I only run 2 buckets in flower in a 5' x 6.5' x 5' tent knocked on its side, and I have to do a lot of lst and scrogging to fill out my canopy. There isn't room for me to get in the back of the tent to accomplish this without pushing the buckets to opposite ends of the tent.

The second reason is that I spent a year and a half chasing weed gremlins without a harvest in a water chilled recirculating bio bucket system. I haven't been able to figure out exactly what it was, but ever since I got rid of any component I couldn't get inside and clean (water chiller, PVC/hose manifolds, recirc pump), my harvests have came back to fruition. Your manifold drain system won't be recirculating and certainly wouldn't compromise my plants, but even the thought of a PVC manifold triggers some ptsd.

Then use the reverse blower feature to fill them right back up with fresh afterwords.

I didn't even know my vacuum had this feature. I was already wishing that it did. That's pretty f'n awesome, I'll go check to see that in action right meow.

I haven't gone downstairs to muck with the vacuum, but after reading and re-reading the owners manual, I can see that there is no "reverse" feature. There is a blow port on the back that can be used as a small blower if you attach the hose instead of the silencer. I was imagining I was still going to want a diaphragm pump for my fills. It hasn't been a nuisance hand watering my 4 buckets like it has draining them, but my back is legit getting tired of all the bending. I am either 100% pain-free or I am writhing; wide eyed and speechless on the floor from bending over and twisting like a jackass.

FEATURES
Powerful exhaust airstream can be directed through the vac hose to blow debris from garages, decks, and sidewalks

6.5 Peak HP Motor – Powerful suction picks up about 1 gallon of water per second

Gotcha, I usually just hook a little 185gph up to my dwc totes 1/2" water level indicator tubes on the side to pump back in after I'd syphon them out. And your right about the places that can't be cleaned, the tubes and barb fittings can get pretty grimey inside if you have them. I try to keep em clean, never got root rot yet knock on weed.. My new rdwc systems i'm workin on however are going to auto top off while also slowly draining to waste continuously, like 25%+ a week, just keep adding water and nutes, only dumping to clean the system once in a while :)

I LOVE your monty python style drawring. I'm an aficionado of such things. Totally sold me. I'm stashing that in my "art" folder. I'll settle for a 2 way manifold since 2 of my buckets are vegging in an adjacent tent, but I go 9 weeks without having to dump at all in veg. No burn or anything deficiencies or nothin like before. This one was a week into flower last time I photo'd it. Sometimes I dump every 5-7 days in flower just because every time I try to amend my water instead of replacing it, bad shit starts to happen. I'm probably just a dummy though.

They had a good long life, vegged for like 6+ months under t5 and a few t12s to start with, then each under its own 1000 nanolux digi. Thought I could cram 4 in the new flower room at first.. big mistake had to cut the scrog nets and pull 2 out. To be honest, just 1 stretched 7.5 feet wide wall to wall, under the 2 nets & lights would have been better and probably yeild more lol.
