Keep it simple is what I say.
First and foremost you can do anything you want.
If you want a sealed room, do it; if you don't have a sealed room, maybe start with the tent in a 'Lung room'.
I would go with LEDs, but HPS are good too. And because your setup is an un insulated garage, the HID's will provide the warmth. The hot air can be purged outside and the grow space can pull from the rest of the garage (Lung Room).
I use an AC Infinity, it's a plug and play can fan with controller.
It allows you to set humidity and temperature parameters out of the box. I set mine to purge the air in the grow when it gets to hot and when it gets to humid. The can fan you need might as well be a smart one.
And that's it.
