Two oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday, leaving one ablaze and both adrift, shipping firms said, driving oil prices as much as 4% higher over worries about Middle East supplies.
The Front Altair, carrying petrochemical feedstock, was on fire in waters between Gulf Arab states and Iran after an explosion that a source blamed on a magnetic mine. The Norwegian owner said its crew were safe.
A second Japanese-owned tanker was abandoned after being hit by a suspected torpedo, the firm that chartered the ship said. The crew were also picked up.

So it looks like Bolton is actually going to get his wish before Trump dumps him too. I mostly agree with you on this Badfishy, though I don't think it's Israel that would stage this, they'd have too much to loose in an all out war with Iran as Iran is actually militarily capable enough to give them a good headache before the cavalry arrives. My money would be on the US's other brothers in arms, Saudi, they apparently suffered an attack on one of their pipelines recently that didn't garner much international attention.



Israel would no doubt benefit massively in this conflict though, I see the US gifting them the Golan heights for aiding them. I'm not sure I totally believe that the US in in Israels pocket as much as some, I think Israel owes the US a lot since the 50's and is just better at playing their hands than the other countries in that area.
