In honor of 2 of my all time fave growers: SQ & BOG (these buds are for you!)

I WAS WRONG!!!

I WAS WRONG!!!

No worries Karl! Believe me, brudda, I feel ya!

OK, I checked out some of my other pics from the transition to 12/12 of this grow and realized that most of these plants were about 12" (from the top of the soil) at the start of 12/12. Also, I did translplant the others into a 2 gal pot, then waited for sexing to transplant again to the 5 gal pots. But, the net net is that the plants that are from seed were put into 12/12 exactly 32 days after the bean first touched the soil.

I'm not sure how old the NW clones were, but they're the ones that are already pictured in the 2 gal pots and they were much smaller than the others. From these pics and certainly from the aroma and flavor, this particular NW was strongly influenced by it's Neville's Haze mom. I was never able to repeat this exact strain from my pile o' beans, and because it was so damn large -- over 6 feet, it wasn't really ideal for my garden.

And one more thing that might be of interest, I do use CO2...

First pic is of all these plants 10 days into 12/12 (very healthy!!).

Second pic is of the ladies (males all exterminated) -- all except that massive NW. I could never take her out of the room because she was all caged up inside the grow room...

Pot Porno

Big plants are really fun to manage and enjoy, but for indoor growers, I think this plant is PERFECT!!

Another Serious AK x WW (2nd generation). This one was the 2nd smallest of the grow!

Hope you like my personal porno collection :muahaha:

Nicely done PnH - my grows still mainly consist of BOG genes - with me still trying to get SoQuick's leg sized colas! Good stuff - the dirt mix and fert routine especially - simpler is better!

nice plants. few questions. How big is ur grow space? Did u top? If so at which node? How far do u keep ur light from ur plants and how is ur co2 applied to ur plants. thx

Thankx. 6x7. No. N/A. As close as possible. Bottled, run through lines, on a timer. Wlcm.

Thanks, Strainwhore! I do like to keep it simple.

As for BOG's seeds, I never had much success with his beans. However, all the results you see are using his recipes (weird, huh?).

Now, about SQ and his big plants -- that is my objective for the future. I mostly remember him from OG, but he has enough info in his "IC is boring as shit" thread to follow. But IMHO my plants are actually bigger than his -- in this grow, the smallest was a little over 140 g's. However, mine take up a much larger footprint, and ultimately, that's just not as efficient as SQ's uniform rows and plants. Make sense?

Bingo! At first when I was reading this thread I saw your using bog's mix and organic bottled ferts(exactly what I use), and I'm looking at these Krusty-bucket-sized colas thinking too myself that the only way this is possible is if gnomes are sneaking in there at night and sprinkling pixie dust on them to improve yields before they rip your shit! Good thing it's just the CO2. I was worried.

Hopefully some day I'll be skilled enough to use CO2. Until then I'll be trying to finish my plants without any major defeciencies.

Nice Work.

Stoney B - that reply cracked me up. Gnomes...

I hope you're kidding about CO2 being the "BINGO" ingredient; it is not. There is no doubt that CO2 helps to accelerate growth and vitality and increases yield, but it is not the Holy Grail.

You said you hope to be skilled enough some day to use CO2... I'm not sure what that means, but IMHO, CO2 is easier to use than Earth Juice Grow and Bloom. Just buy a CO2 tank, a CO2 injector kit (about $150) and a timer -- no experience required.

If all someone had to do to grow plants this big and healthy was add CO2 to the same feeding regiment that I've already outlined, why the hell wouldn't they?!!

Hey PnH, 'Bingo' because the gnomes aren't after your shit:bigeye:. I agree with what you're sayin here. What I meant was that I can't even get my plants to finish without some other problem arising, so for me to use C02 is pointless. Sure I could set up a CO2 system, but It's not gonna do anything for me until I can grow healthy plants though the whole lifecycle. Someday.

Quick question: Do you adjust the ph of your EJ solutions before you feed or do you just bubble them for 24-48hrs.

Thanks

Stoney Bologna, I get it now -- thanks for clarifying...

Keep in mind that CO2 doesn't just boost your plant growth, it's an important part of growing healthy plants. Just like your nutes, the CO2 enhancement makes your plants happier (not just bigger!). Make sense? Bottom line -- don't delay adding it to your garden if you want healthier plants...

Now the EJ is another story. What works for me may not work for you because we all have different water. I fill 5 gal buckets with tap water and allow to sit for at least 24 hrs (in theory, I'm evaporating the chlorine). So, using that water, I add my VERY WELL SHAKEN EJ (bloom or grow) to 1 gallon water jugs and fill with the sitting tap water, then allow them to sit for another 24 hours (shaking them 2 or 3 times during that period). That's it. No other adjustments. Fact is, I know the pH is extremely low in this mixture, but the overall soil environment is what matters -- and obviously not negatively impacted by not adjusting the pH or bubbling the mixture. This regiment goes with my objective: Keep it Simple!

Hope that helps a little Smoker :smoker:

thanks kooki!

In fact, my next grow project is to replicate SQ's 77 pot setup (though I will not have that many). I'm not sure if I will post as I grow or not, but if I do -- I will let you know!

Again, thank you

Neptune

very nice plants man, very nice.

do you use verticle lighting then? sorry if this has been answered...

I'm watchin for your SQ bucket thread :)

Aw, shucks! Thanks 514

Neptune, glad you approve! About my lighting, I used 1 600HPS hung from the rafters, nothing special -- just simple. My use of mylar is critical to my ability to get so much coverage from one light.

I will be sure to let you know if (when) I start that thread. I'm already running one small test line (18 buckets). If that ends well, I will start to share my progress for the next step (2 more lines)...
