rope, hydroton, perlite, vermiculite, porous matting, whatever wicks will wick.just use bigger, deeper pots if drainage is to be right in them. the bigger drainage vollume the better (to a point off course). sand is best

Thanks guys, LOL. I knew this would stir up some conversation. I'm not a major proponent for this, I'd just thought I'd throw it out there for Y'all. This isn't my premise, It's tapla's, I'm just bringing it to the table for discussion.
Being an outdoor grower, I've been searching for something to even out those really wet seasons. It's like walking a tightrope sometimes, between overwatering and underwatering, this could help keep your plants from drowning. The pots need to hold enough moisture for about three days but not so much they drown.
Check out the root systems on a good Aero grow or DWC and you'll see NO WATER ROOTS. We know they have the fastest growth rates by far. Why? I think water roots are grown out of necessity, not because they are the best for the plant.
Like I said, this is not applicable for alot of growers. If you've got it down, your good. But this could help in certain situations.
You can only cut soil to a point with perlite and then you have to start feeding with every watering....it turns into hydro.
Us left coasters must get the factory reject pallets of FFOF. That's all I'm sayin on that.
