Good morning world! After dealing with much adversary over the last few weeks I think it all came to a head. I am in veg and I recently turned on the metal halide light so things are starting to really roll. Unfortunately the water in my tiny three gallon reservoir is 80* now. I have proper ventilation the ballast is outside of the grow area and the ambient temperature outside of the grow area is 76*. My central air conditioning is running all the time because average temps right now are still in the eighties. I have been doing add bucks it's cold water and I have many fans but I still can't keep those temperatures down until fall comes to my region. any one have any ideas on how to chill the water in my dwc bucket?

as a low tech solution to your problem I've heard about people using 2 l soda bottles filled with water and then frozen. depending on your reservoir size one or two bottles put inside it could solve it for hours or maybe even a full day.

Frozen bottles work great.

Note they melt faster than they freeze. You'll want to maintain 2-3 in the freezer. Because of the 3G res I'd think about 16 oz-8 oz bottles. The smaller the res the faster the disaster and 2L represents a good chunk of 3gal.
