Im pretty sure I might be retreaded or something....

Starting to think I might be retarded or something...

I work, have a pretty good job actually but when it comes to socializing I am literally more comfortable being around dogs than around people...

In my downtime I'd rather be spending time with my dog as opposed to hanging with people. Hell, even when I am around other people and there is a dog present I'll usually end up paying more attention to the dog than other people...

what the hells wrong with me lol?

I like people one on one or in very small groups. Too many people seem to drain my energy. I've been known to camp with the dog during parties and large gatherings.

As a dog lover, I can understand your comfort with dogs vs people. Dogs require much less mental energy. You can let your guard down with a dog because he/she is not going to judge you or have an ulterior motive (except maybe a cookie or belly rub).

Researchers have found that petting dogs causes your brain to release serotonin as well as the dog's brain. So basically whenever you pet a dog, you both get high.

Plus they think all your ideas are great (except the ones about the vet).

To me you seem like an introverted dog lover not retarded.

The mentally challenged people I've had any level of dealings with have been pleasant individuals.
Most dogs I've interacted with have lifted my spirits if not amazed me.
Many people I've communicated one-on-one with have been fine for the most part, although rarely as faithful or trusting as dogs.
Most small or large groups of people I've had to deal with give packs of wolves a bad name.

Bolded...thats a large part of it for me. I generally find interacting with other people draining from a mental standpoint. After dealing with a high stress job all week long, coming home going out for a hike or exercising with the dog is much more relaxing to me than going out with people, most of whom want to be entertained.

Yeah, a girl in the picture would be nice...but as a grower that just simply is not going to happen.

It's been a sad year for me regarding dogs....

The 3 dogs I had in the Philippines all died earlier this year. I hadn't been able to see them for nearly 3 years and my big Rott Zack died (he was 9 years old), then his little Dachshund kennel-mate died of a broken heart a week later. Then a month later Zack's Dobie-Rott son got bit by a cobra and died on Palawan. So now I am dog-less, but enjoy going over to see my elder brother who has a chocolate Labrador that is always pleased to see me.

No I don't think that you are retarded liking dogs over humans. Dogs tend to sooth the mind, and no matter what worries you might have, they seem to go away for a while when you are playing with a fun dog. Human's often seem to have ulterior motives to associate, whereas dogs are usually only interested in more simple and innocent things, such as you throwing a stick or a ball for them, or tickling their tummies.

It has been proven that dogs have the capacity to be very therapeutic for humans, and I'm grateful to have known and owned many throughout my life.

Sorry for your loss and woes, Gypsy. Each animal friend I've had in my life enriched it in positive ways.
