I'm now in Thailand - Where do I get some oldschool Thai sativa buds?

My third day in Thailand, and when it comes to weed I'm quite unimpressed with all the western genetics that are grown here. Everything you can get in Europe, you can get here as well.

I was hoping to get my hands on some of the Thai old school outdoor bud, for happy days on the beach
However, that's non existent in coffeeshops in the area where I'm staying.

I've seen a YT video by a guy that goes by Jollyrogers, but the farm featured in the video sells only in bulk, like kilos. Would be cool to make some hash, but that's not an option right now.

Wanted to ask y'all do you maybe know where could I, here in Thailand, order some outdoor Thai sativa online?

I was there in October/November - and commiserate with you about not finding traditional Thai 'erb in the cannabis stores - I managed to find some Thai Brick Weed - that was much much better than any imported Cambodian or Laos Brick Weed - I had found in Thailand over the past decades - read on about it in this thread;

Ya, it's odd that you can't find something that naturally belongs here. Everyone is after the same stuff, maybe not knowing that good outdoor weed can be pretty nice.

I went around, saw a lot of stale weed, some brick weed and the usual western gen. At one shop the small brick of weed seemed fresh and had a bit of that exotic(mango?)smell, but I was set to find Squirrel tail-like buds, and didn't buy it. Now I have no idea where that shop is:biggrin:

However, today I found a place, and the owner that goes by Turbo  showed me some video and pics of the stuff he should get in a few days. He said it's from a government farm.
Those buds...well I can just say if I'll get my hands on it, I'm set then for the duration of my stay.

In the meantime, I'm getting whacked by some indoor weed and with the heath.

The hash is from some Cali guy growing in Phuket. It's a nighty-nite KO smoke.

The Indoor one is AKxsomethingsomething. Had some Amnesia haze till now, so had just one joint of that Ak hybrid. Good daytime smoke. Amnesia was also nice, but you do get a hit of that Afgani great-great-grandfather. A bit heavy for this heath.

The last ugly duckling is what I got for 50/g. She said that's the weed they press into the bricks, but this wasn't pressed for whatever reason.

It's kind of stale, but less than other stuff I've seen. I think they harvest in February, so that's almost a year from the last harvest. Smoked a 0,3ish joint, it's a sativa but very mild. Guess it wasn't stored well so it degraded with time. 3 out of 10. Won't be buying more.

Let's hope I'll be back soon with a new thread, showing off those fox-tail buds that guy showed me today.

How will growers in any western countries ever compete at those prices wow

This is gonna crash like Cali, sooner or later.

Regarding that link, I texted her, she's a lady grower and apparently does it for the love of gardening or whatever.

She said that she cures and stores weed, seems like she knows how to preserve it.
"Yes my Ganja is kept in a controlled environment that is actually in very good condition" - Seems like she at least knows what's she talking about.

She recommended MEKHONG TaNao at 1000/25g and I went for Squirrel Tail, at the same price and quantity. I'll give it a shot, was recommend by someone on the other forum and if its a bunch of hay, I won't go broke for 2000.

100% without protectionism the future of commercial cannabis is imports from Asia, South America and Africa.

I’m sure she loves money too mate ;)

I’m sure will teach others if she gets some success.

i really hope so ,
but they need to dispel the myth that indoor cannabis is better than outdoor first ,
then the overheads will drop drastically . and with it the prices and the ability to undercut producers in the west .. i know many dont believe this is a possibility , ie better grown out than in , but ive seen it myself and its definitely doable .. much of the thai climate , especially in the north east is ideal for cannabis ..

im keen to hear the thoughts of the op on the produce from the next purchase ...

I actually meant the prices will crash here in Thailand. They are selling some weed at 600-700 or more per 1g, and everyone and their 5 year old niece has weed in Thailand.

It seems that it works cos there are foreigners ready to pay the price, rather than as a result of supply/demand or being risky so it adds up to the cost. Sure, there are costs to be covered, but I don't buy it that they are so high to justify the price, nor cos supply is low so you can keep the price up.

And the most hilarious part is that still, growers I've met and talked to are buying stuff with Afgani genes in it and grow it outdoors, something that is not really suitable for the climate.

I met a Swiss guy that lives here, he was growing outdoors some hybrid, western genetics. I asked him why doesn't he grow some sativa here(I'd love to stay here a growing season, just to see it growing. Well, and smoke some), it's a no brainier. He didn't have a valid explanation.

yea sure you can do it , in the dry season the humidity is quite low ,
ive been growing indica/sativa hybrids in the tropics for over 20 years successfully,
there are places in thailand of course where you couldnt do this , generally closer to the coast and in the south in many places one might run into trouble,
but in the north east away from the coast its quite suitable and dry and arid for many months of the year ...
id definitely encourage growing sativas outdoors too though, one still needs to be careful about when and where however , as they can certainly get mold too ....
