Yep. I did the same. Google to the rescue. I E-Mailed back from a Yahoo account. I'm going to hit them from yet another account saying they have won $3,000,000 and see if They find it amusing. The scammers sure do write back too. All happy you won and trying to milk you for your info. I would have posted the response with the requirements too but I deleted it.

Wow! I really won??

That's great! I just checked with my bank and I have $3,023.87!! That's enough to get my winnings!

There's only one problem, the bank says it's going to cost me $200 to transfer these funds and as you can see, I can't send the $3,000 and pay the $200 transaction fee. I really need these winnings since I have an operation on my back next month and my church has only helped me raise half the money I need.

If you could please send $200 to GWB 1600 Penn. Ave, Wash DC 20005 and I'll wire the $3000 right away!

Thank the Lord!

Yes King, Herb had me going there! :puppydoge However, I thought he had actually won a real lottery. Not much to question there, you either won it or you didn't. But, yes, I got sucked in. What can I say? :moon:

I used to get ten or so a week when I was traveling all over the world. Nigeria is the big offender for fax and email fraud. We used to collect them but it got to be rediculus we had so many. We used to say you weren't exporting enough product if you don't at least get one a week. They get immagration info from around the world based on your passport activity. I used to spend 225+ day outside the US for a couple of years so they knew I was moven all around.

I like, The daughter of the oil minister fled the country with a case full of cash. She got out just before they executed him. This money is in a secure bank but we can not get it without your help. Send us your name, ss #, banking info etc.... we would be most appreciative.lol your fee for such consideration 2.5 million usd.lo. There are about ten boiler plate stories they use.

What they do is then check your bank to see how much you have and see if it is even worth the trouble to rip you off. Then if you have a little cash or access to cash they tell you to come over and finalize the deal. In order for it all to work they want you there in person so it all official and all. Once you get there it turns into a ransom situation of sorts. They take all your documents so you are stuck unless you pony up some cash. I personally know of two people that got lured into these over the years and one it cost around 25K and the other around 15K just to get there passports back. Africa is no place to be without any documents.

Be carefull, these guys are non stop and unfortunately the gullable are usually older folks with real need for the cash that they are gettin swindled out of.

Send 1,500.00 and I will send you 25,000.00 is crazy on it's face alone.

I used to get some really weird emails. One of them was about the continuation of species or something...telling me I needed to have kids and stuff..and that humans should colonize the moon and Mars and stuff. LMAO

I did get that Nigerian Bank scam too. What a crock! I just emailed them back and told them to go screw themselves..never heard from them again.

Rellik my brother you know I meant no harm right? Dude believe me I would PM ya if all were true and invite you to my new home (or to talk about having one built). I was just trying to use a Funny way to get the Scam out. This Internet Scam thing is new to me. I was clueless until yesterday. I checked my Remote E-Mail and had 900 Spam E-Mails in my Bulk Box. Many of them were from Wayward Widows or Political refugees seeking me to transfer their funds to. No Bullshit here folks. 900 E-Mails in less than 24 hours. I would be a Trillionaire and would Own 3 Third World Countries if I responded to just a few of these Scams. Do people really fall for these kind of things?

Unfortunately, every day. Once you see it for what it is, you wonder how people can fall for it, but humans are greedy and the elderly are easily taken advantage of.

These scam are commonly called 419 Scams after the Nigerian law code under which these crimes fall.

Some people have taken to fighting back by baiting the the sacmmers and getting them to perform silly things like have photos of themselves taken holding a sign that makes them look like total morons.

If you want a really gound laugh, have a look see at www.419eater.com. These people have gotten scammers to make complete asses of themselves.

My previous post was actually based on what some one did to one of these idiots and actually got money FROM the scammer!

P.T.Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute." On the internet, it's more like there is a sucker born every second and more are getting online everyday!

Cheers!
