Here's my Sagarmatha mystery mix plant. She's a little over 3 weeks into 12/12 now. I just transplanted a couple of days ago and she was not even close to being root-bound. She's in a mixture of FF OF, FF LW, and perlite. Temps are in the low 70s with lights off and in the mid 80s with lights on. Humidity stays around 30-40%. I've been feeding her every watering with 3ml FF tiger bloom, 5ml FF big bloom, 5ml PBP bloom, 3ml liquid karma, and 2ml sweet. I adjust the ph to 7.0 before watering and the runoff is about 6.4. I water every 3-4 days and she's under a 250w hps and a few CFLs. I was feeding less until she started yellowing and then I bumped her up to this mix but the problem hasn't gotten any better, maybe even worse. Am I over feeding? Any ideas?

I use similar.... also every watering...

For this plant I would be using 20 ml pbp bloom....
15 ml LK
10 sweet....

Id say more chow.....

You might consider also more N pbp during the transition from veg to flowering...

This means to not flip to flower ferts until 2 weeks into 12-12

Thanks florigen. So are you saying that next time I should continue using the PBP veg for longer during the veg-flowering transition?

Edit: Looks like you just answered that for me with your edit....heh.

One more thing....

When making the determination to feed more....

Like in this case....

examine the leaf tips.... if they are pristine or close you may be underfeeding.....

if the tips are a little brown if may not be a good idea for more food....

From what I can see yours are pristine.... so the potential they are being underfed exists.....

Your are giving her a good nut but there is a lack of N A lot Of N. Just feed her with some growth fert just like you feed her in the end of the Veg stage.
And in NO time 2-3 day :lurk: she will stay one course :)
If you don't ! do it now! you will see that the stems will turn purple and the older leafs will turn more yellow and die......

Good luck

Thanks pureknowledge, I've always wondered exactly when I should be transplanting. The only reason I did it so late this time was because she unexpectedly stretched on me BIG TIME and when she started yellowing I thought she might have been root-bound. Stupid mistake on my part, now I know.

Rastanfisk, If I add more N will she continue to grow/stretch? She has completely maxed out my box as she is and I have no idea what to do if she stretches too much more on me. The branches have already purpled on a few of the fan leaves that have yellowed and she has already sucked some of them dry.

I believe that she will may stretch a bit more but NOT a lot more you are in week 3
the plant stop growing at about 5 weeks and only starts Buds ONLY BUD´s , but that is Not all strains........ so i really don't know what you should do, if your out of space !
Maybe you could tie them on 1or2or3 stick´s of Bamboo or some kind of stem supporter or what you call it in English :) and try to support the stem´s with some rope tied on the stick or something !! just try to find the right dose of N start at half nut and see what happens....

Good Luck :rasta:

plants are still in veg for the first two weeks flowering, so slowly reduce (whatever company) "GROW" for the first 2 weeks of flower. this will allow your plant to put on size right till flowering starts.

She's gettin pale again eh? Well,I wouldn't worry too much about it.If ya notice the leaves that are yellowin are ones that used ta be major players, but since yuv LST em their now tucked in and kinda out of the prime light,so the plant is usein em up.That's not ta say she's still not in need of some N.The leaves on each buddin branch are not turnin plum yellow jus pale, follow me? I thought "sweet" was supposed ta help a plant through the transition phase with N ??? I don't really know that much about the stuff though.Anyway,I think I'd use a tsp of grow big along with a 1/4-1/2 *cup* of big bloom. The BB will off set the N and act like a catalyst,in other words yer gonna get the greening affect from the N but it's not gonna cause the plant ta wanna stretch or retard the flower process by growin leaves. You can safely do this clear up ta week 5 in flower,on a 8 week strain.I wouldn't use any more karma until it's very clear the stretching is over, imo it makes em stretch more.Karma is made ta inhance what ever phase a plant is in,so if it's in stretch phase, that's what it's gonna do....Don't be afraid of the BB it's weak NPK wise but it will get the microherd doin it's thing by feedin it and addin to it.It will also release salt bonds that can lock up nutrients, makin yer tiger bloom work better. But it requires heavier doses....Well,anyway this will safely green her back up.I've had no problems doin it this way fer years.Good luck my friend.Take care...BC

Thanks everyone for the help. It's very appreciated.
B.C., do you think I should stop using everything but the bb and the gb until I get everything straightened out? Just mix about a 1/2 a cup bb and a tsp gb to a gallon and ph to about 6.8? I think she'll be ready for water tonight.

Yes Sir!

Yes Sir!

All of her needs will be taken care of jus usein the BB an GB.The next water after that jus plain water,if it hasn't greened up by then do it again with BB an GB.She'll blow up....watch! Be sure and give us an update.Later man,BC OH! btw yer GB is the newer version 6-4-4 and not the old 12-7-7 right?

Ok, I'll try that tonight. The lights will be on in a couple of hours. My gb is the 6-4-4. I'll update when she gets better/worse.

Ok, here's the update so far even though she hasn't really had enough time to react completely.

I watered lastnight with 1/4 cup of bb and 1 tsp gb at 6.9ph. She's still yellowing pretty badly but I think that may get better soon. The buds have definately grown more overnight than they have in about a week. Here she is tonight. I'll watch her closely over the next few days and see what happens. Thanks again everyone, especially you B.C.

The MS Piggy plant...lol

The MS Piggy plant...lol

Man I trip every time I see this plant, jus 3 weeks ago this plant was about 1/4 of the size it is now.I think the heat issue has deffently had an affect on this plant. When it's up around 90+ degrees (esp fera week) the plant has a hard time feedin,it's like lockout (unless yer runnin co2,then it makes everything go faster). You can see the bud leaves at the bottom are alot more green, prolly from heat stratafying tawords the top.Heat damage cannot be undone.Anyway she's still gonna yeild fat.The BB will help baby her back ta health, as much as can expected anyway. With roots pokin out the bottom of the pot,it sounds like it's helped down there too.Sorry I didn't see this as a heat problem from the start, but the N was prolly needed anyway cuz of all the stretchin an extra leaves,so no harm done.If ya would, please keep us updated,so others may learn from this, thanks.Take care buddy,BC

FFS people.... stop flipping out about a wee little bit of old fan leaf yellowing early in flowering.

There is NOTHING wrong with the plants in these pictures.

Yes, a grower should never switch immediatly to bloom nutes on the day he flips the light cycle, which in this case is why the yellowing began a week or two prematurely. However, these plants are now nearly four weeks into flowering and it is a totally NORMAL and natural function of cannabis in flowering to translocate (yellow off) some N from its lowest and oldest existing fan leaves.

The somewhat early yellowing you saw here was a result of having reduced the N a couple weeks too soon. But, it's NOT something worth bothering to attempt treating since the plants have already taken care of themselves by taking all the N they were initially lacking. duh !

After all is said and done, the best tasting final product will always come from plants which are allowed to complete their life cycle as mother nature intended...and that means NOT pushing any additional N at her when she already has pleanty of N stored in her oldest foliage. You're not going to smoke those old fan leaves, so let them be food just like mother nature intended.

I'll say it again for clarity...
Yellowing of bottom fan leaves is a totally normal and natural function of cannabis in flowering. Allow the plants to yellow off that old foliage, which isn't getting much light anyway, to yellow off and die naturally. It will only make your buds better when they're finally finished. The yellowing off is the plants own way of taking care of itself.

At this point PickledLSD, I would return to the bloom nutes and NOT hamper the plants any further with extra N which would only become a real problem later in flowering.

Well I reckon you told me,huh?

Well I reckon you told me,huh?

I myself don't think a plant yellowing at 3 WEEKS in flower is the norm but if you wanna think that, that's jus groovy with me,I know better tho.Especially since he's tellin me there are yellowin alil more everyday via PM's.Ya know the real reason these yellowed was because his exhaust fan was broke and the temps were 90+ degrees fer a week,THEY COOKED.Jus fer yer information 10K Fox Farms nutes were intended ta be used this way. There was not enough N to offset the flower process ESP with that much Big Bloom goin in with it.You do know BIG BLOOM IS A BLOOM NUTE RIGHT??!!!? Besides if they kept yellowing his yeild would have went way down,it takes leaves ta make bud you know. If you flush acouple of weeks at the end everything yellows out perfectly, makin the bud burn clean and taste like it's supposed too.I've grown this way fer years so I'm not jus talkin shit. My first post stated not to worry to much about the YELLOWING LEAVES AT THE BOTTOM IT'S NORMAL so we're all hip there too.I think yer post was jus chance ta be insulting!,not only to me but everyone else in this thread, and to compare me ta SPOUTCO,HA that's flat ass insulting!! So in response to that I say FUUCK YOU,YOU POMPOUS ASSHOLE! And ta think I used ta have respect fer you,yer far too cool fer me now.HEH HEH HEH FFS yer too cool fer IC MAG!

10K: I realise that plants yellow at the end of flowering and that the fan leaves will be consumed first. This plant is only about 4 weeks into flowering though and the whole plant was yellowing from top to bottom and losing leaves by the day. I would have to disagree with you if you say that's normal. I forgot to mention my heat issue when I started this thread consequently making it look like she needed more N. If you read B.C's post above yours then you would have seen that he had re-evaluated before you stepped in. Constructive criticism is one thing but your pissing contest mentality hasn't helped anyone here.

Thanks for helping me straighten her out B.C., she's looking better already.
