and in response to Kaleems post with matthew 10:34-35, the bible is also rather distorted. It is our job as divine expressions of creation to determine what is truth in our own lives.

the bible is simply a tool/metaphor, it is up to the observer to interpret it. whichver way you choose is in perfect order. . . perhaps look for the Light in every situation or statement, isntead of directing yourselves immediately towards the negative interpretations of experiencing reality.

move to a new country if you do not like "what america is becoming". i think countries like sweden and denmark are pretty liberal and democratic..

you do not know how good this country really is. despite all its faults i believe its still one of the best ones to live in.
only western europe/japan/australia can really compete w/ the levels of freedom that we enjoy on a daily basis. other than those, most other countries citizens' are repressed by their gov't in some way or another.
so suck it up and make a decision instead of whining in a pub forum.

Organized religion is a way to segregate (sunday is the most segregated day in america) people, but worse is, its a way to control people and their thoughts. I wonder why in the middle and dark ages the only people allowed (in europe) to read and write were clergy and noble people.
