read the thread "cloning with JJScorpio"
i do a very similar method, very simple and cheap.
and i get 100% success rates, and im using greenlight rooting hormone

Another device that works well and is fairly cheap considering it will pay for its self in one batch of clones ......

works like a champ every time ...... Groclone.com

Keep it clean, and take healthy cuts !!!

From my own experience, the best way to do it is in a power cloner. Use light rooting hormone 20ml per gal. no dome, don't spray em, put em under a t5 and leave them alone. roots in 5 to 10 days 100%

For those who are thinking about making the "world class cloner." Walmart does not carry this product anymore. I've been to two different locations and an employee stated that it has been a discontinued product. Any other sources out there? I'll be taking some clones this weekend, kind of scared of failure again. Wish me luck guys!

here's a link to Amazon.com, they deliver to your door.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0NQ251RK4K07KGD34EQF

btw, often the clerks you talk to at Walmart don't know jack.
(they're just wage monkeys workin' for minimum, the
downside to huge company's, one of 'em anyway)

they are made to make ice for water bottles and are often
found near where they sell water bottles, for bikers and
hikers and shit, not bottled water, lol.

also, if there is an REI near you, they carry them.

make sure you read through the original thread and
follow instructions (very simple), if you do, i promise
you you will get rooted clones.

btw, if you need to take cuts before the trays are delivered
you can bunch them, wrap the cut ends in a wet paper towel
then stick them in a baggy and put them in the crisper drawer
in your fridge (where you keep lettuce and shit), you can keep
them in the fridge like that for close to a month.(the longer
they've been in the fridge, the more failures you get, with
2 weeks or less being optimal)

Thanks Bozo! I was actually looking where they sell ice trays. The guy said that they used to carry them becaue I pulled a pic off my phone and showed him. Lol. I'll check where they sell the water bottles for those who bike. Maybe they moved them and he didn't know(crossing fingers). And yes there are plenty of REI's where I'm at.
So I was looking at the original thread for the 10th time. I can't seem to remember what kind of water he uses. I do most of my reading & post from my phone so the pages take forever to load. What do you think about using coco as the medium vs vermiculite? I just don't want to buy more stuff you know. Anyhow I might also try 3oz mouth wash cups, cut slits in the bottom and throw them in a little tub of water. Maybe 1/4-1/2 inch deep.

mornin' man, first, just use tap water, i just let it sit out
open for a day or 2 to allow the chlorine to evaporate out.
(assuming your tap water is close to a neutral ph, not
critical unless your water is at either of the extremes)

btw, if you take cuts and just put them in a glass of water
and stick them in a window you will get roots on most
of them, just like a house plant. the failure rate is higher,
depending on the variables in your house, but it WILL work.

also, if you're gonna try coco as a medium, don't use the
ice-tube-trays as it's been tried.

no, if you're gonna try coco, follow High Country's lead
as he has been using coco/perlite as a medium with great
success.

fact is, cloning isn't magic, but it CAN be tricky for the
inexperienced so knowing which of the many methods
to try can be daunting.

another factor that seems to plague the noobs is the need
to follow only SOME of the instructions, thinking they know
enough to customize whatever method they are trying now.

DON'T do that, if you use the ice-tube-trays, follow the
instructions to the letter (very simple) and if you decide
to go with coco, follow High Country's tutorial to the letter.

the advantage's to using either his method or the ice-tube-tray
is that they are both passive systems with no equipment
that can fail.

(i use the ice-tube-tray's because they are cheap as hell
to buy and use, they are extremely reliable, and, they are
easy as hell to use, plus, i'm only a micro-grower so these
give me way more clones than i can use)

It does work, patience is the main thing and stable temps, 1/2 healthy mums cos my last lot were not. But still managed to save the strain with basic cloning methods.

Thanks for the comments.

High,

Just read your thread again bro. Do you water the hiko tray or the red tub and is wicked up by the medium?

Bozo,
You're just using tap right? Ph'd or not?

yeah, where i live the municipal water supply is a ph
of about 7 so that's not a problem.

what i do is i put my water into containers that i leave open
for about 48 hours to allow the chlorine to evaporate out.
i have about 10x 2.5 gallon plastic kitty litter containers
that i store my water in and i just keep rotating them so i
always have fresh, de-chlorinated water for the gurls, lol.

Alright cool. I was just double checking bro. Thanks for your help! I know you said that you leave the water out so the chlorine can evaporate, but some people use it straight out of the sink because they say that the chlorine keeps things clean. What's your take on that? I have an RO system. Should I just use that? Do you use superthrive? I just went to REI and bought the last ice cube tray they had. Lucky me!

I feed the clones after about 7 days with Seasol seaweed extract. By this time roots should be developing. I simple take the Hiko tray out of the tub and remove the dome. Fill up a watering can with the recommended mix of Seasol and water them. I don't water them at all prior to this. From then on the dome stays off.

High,
So no initial watering from the beginning? Is your coco pretty moist out of the bag?

D2G
The coco/perlite mix is moist when put into the Hiko tray. For coco I use compressed blocks which are reconstituted by soaking in water and broken up.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I got 100% survivors this last batch. 10/10 in the world class cloner and 8/8 with the jiffy pellets. Used 5.5 ph'd RO with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. I'm no longer a clone killer! Knock on wood!

Glad to hear you are no longer a clone killer. Check out this, I just cloned a LEAF off a plant 7 weeks into flower.

That's from MY LITTLE SOG GOES 1000W. WTF, freaking bizarre, but the leaf stem is putting out roots.
