Actually, Soilman, I saw a bunch of 5-600 lb feral hogs in Florida last time I went shopping at Wal-Mart there. Most of them were riding little electric carts and had their ugly toothless litters following them.

we must shop at the same walmart. I'm glad I dont eat swine

I helped a guy once and he didnt have any money and he tried to give me a 650 pound sow he had for years as a breeder. For those that think pigs that size cant run, guess again. I got into the pen about 40 feet away and that thing was near me in a few seconds. The guy made a pen out of logs because he couldnt find anything else that would hold it in. Id hate to see what it costs to build a fence to hold those animals in.....And no, I let him keep his pig, lol......

It costs quite a bit... I've built several.

Just an FYI for everyone, pigs are an animal that can continue to grow, and evolve/de-evolve to various extents in only a matter of months. These creatures are "smart" in more ways than one biologically.

Anyone with a pot-bellied pig can tell you that there is a certain amount you feed them to keep them small. Granted they are "dwarfed" by select breeding, but get one, put it in a massive area or compound, feed it multi-grain feed on an unscheduled basis, allow it to feel almost wild by offering natural environments and see what happens.

Snout lengthens slightly, tusks often form, skin tone changes and subsequently the hair as well and the creature over all becomes much larger. MUCH.

However, if raising a pig with intentions of eating this proceedure isn't recommended. Pigs can pick up and sustain many diseases without actually killing the animal but potentially harmful or even deadly to us. Farm raised pigs are the only kind I recommend eating. Which is odd for me to say because I'm a hunter and prefer wild game over anything farm raised about 99% of the time.

SC, just adding some input.

What the hell does that mean lol?If the kid were 10 feet behind the hog you'd be able to see the kid standing 10 feet behind the hog! He'd look like a fat little whiteboy ant lol.It appears to be what it is,a fat little redneck boy leaning or nearly leaning on a half ton feral pig.Whats so hard to believe??You folks need to take a trip into the woods next time you come down here to ruin our lives, forget the beach go get eaten by a fake half ton boar lol!

Wikipedia people, USE IT.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Pig

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pigs_over_1000lbs

Wild hogs

Hogzilla ~1000lb
Monster pig 1,051 lb - 1060 lb
Coursey hog 1100lb
"Hog Kong was an estimated 1,140 lb."

Domestic hogs
Big Bill 2,552 lb (world record holding)
Ton Pig 1,980 lb

Yeah they made the hog in two of the photos look bigger by standing far behind it. But they also showed the one where it wasn't. It also isn't the largest or unheard of pig ever.

There we go folks,Liam did all the work for you.its a human fallibility because of our superiority complex not to believe in creatures so much larger, and smarter than we are...Any one of those feral hogs could have pressed a button or two and confirmed the reality of many huge wild boar, but most in this thread weren't intelligent enough lol.Its a fake it's a fake lol.Jack Hanna could do a little research of his own apparently..
