How to apply for or renew an identification (ID) card
DMV issues two types of ID cards. A regular ID card valid for six years, and a senior citizen ID card valid for 10 years. To qualify for a senior citizen ID card, you must be age 62 or older.
To apply for an ID card you will need to do the following:
Visit a DMV office (make an Appointment(s) for faster service)
Complete application form DL 44 (An original DL 44 form must be submitted. Copies will not be accepted.)
Give a thumb print
Have your picture taken
Provide your social security number. It will be verified with the Social Security Administration while you are in the office.
Verify your birth date and legal presence (you may use your California driver license)
Pay the application fee. (No fee for a senior citizen ID card.)
Check your address before you leave DMV and tell the DMV representative if your address is incorrect. Your new ID will be mailed to you within 60 days.

You might think they are thieves but they really help ppl that cant get it any other way. I work at a dispensary and we give away plenty of cannabis to sick ppl. Its not cheap no matter where you get it!
It is much cheaper outside of dispensaries actually. IF you want anything worth a damn from a sacramento dispensary you will have to spend $50-60 for an 1/8th. If I dont have a grow set up I know I can go get an ounce of some insanely good indoor that is much more consistent in quality than the dispensaries for $180. I can go get an ounce of some fire outdoor for $90-100. I can also grow my own for next to nothing and I do often. Most people can go straight to the grower these days and just about every square I know knows at least one grower besides me. Now a compassionate dispensary will lowball the grower and try to cop a pound of his finest indoor for $2500 on consignment and sell it buy the 1/8th for $50-60. THAT IS UNNECESSARY AND IMMORAL! The free weed I see dispensaries giving away for their "compassionate care" programs is bammer at best. Leafy low grade outs or ins, but it usually has no business being in a medical cannabis facility.
I never said we were cheap, and I really dont think its immoral.
Not everyone is able to grow, and being able to walk into a dispensary and gets some relief without feeling like they are going to go to jail is a BIG deal. I see ppl from all walks of life that would NEVER get meds if we wernt there, and going to a "grower" isnt an option. I never said we were cheap, and I really dont think its immoral. You tell an 80 year old man he has to get his meds from guy on the street or a "grower" as you put it isnt going to happen. Until you see it everyday you really have no clue.
Its not cheap no matter where you get it!
