When you think they're done, give them 2 more weeks is the golden rule.

The last 2 weeks you should see a final swell...

Plants can go in stages of growth/ swelling and depending on your strain it could swell again... Do you know how long this strain usually takes?

They are many factors that determine a given strains length of flower including media, size of container, nutrient strength, environmental conditions as well as strength and proximity of light.

That being said if a strain is finishing properly earlier than approx. 8 weeks of flower it is usually due to the plants being in smaller containers and growing very vigorously. So you could have plants that would be done about 42 to 45 days with all conditions being optimal and having the 60-70% milky trics. Rarely though if ever have I seen a plant have amber and be done in this type of time frame.

I feel the best time to pick is when you feel the trics have the coloring you are looking for to complement the particular strain you are working with. Could be as short as 45 days in some instances and as long as 70 in others. For me I don't like as much amber on my heavy indicas as on a more sativa hybrid but that is just my taste. I think most on here like to let stuff go as long as possible to get all the amber they can get :D
