So this will be a tad confusing. From the remnants (rejects) of the first run, which I had outside and have grown up, I brought in the "?", Serious Kush, Gelato / DoSiDos/OPG. Left the Sundae Stallion outside. The HOG is staying inside, and will be flowered out with these three I brought in. So that plant is separated from the rest of the second run, and will finish with the misfits and midgets from run #1. Somehow they got healthy and deserve a chance, and my friend isn't ready to take plants for his 2 x 4 yet..
Recap...
HOG: In the veg tent about to flower with the midgets and misfit left over from run #1. Progress will be tracked in that thread.
SB, AK, SB2 and LB are outside in the sun. They will come inside together to complete this thread.
Edit 5/9: Screw that. The HOG is outside again. It was inside at 12/12 but I don't like the structure, it hasn't started flowering, and the SS plant outside was. Poor SS is an abused POS, but I can't refuse. SS is Sundae Stallion, OBE because I have Strawberry Banana now. Hell, I even backed over it when it was still in a plastic pot, and had to tie the main branches together. Watch this be the best smoke of them all.
Homeless HOG is with the others, again. The two other amigos are stretched and too big for where they are hiding. AK and SB, both really nice. The two make-up plants (SB2 and LB) are doing just fine also, but not near as big, yet. They would do well together in a 2 x 4 I think, and the AK and SB could probably fill a 4 x 4 with training.
I started these plants with no intention of bringing in the remnants from the first run. The two big ones need to come in now, and will have 3 more weeks out there instead.
Let's check in and see how a week in the sun have treated the girls. They have been getting watered every 2 days with straight pond water, got top dressed last time to make up for soil droppage (and some goodness added).
These are waiting for the 1st run to finish flowering at the end of the month, so I have a tent to put them in. 2 more weeks outside.
These are just sitting there in bags. I could do them a lot better by making some SIP tubs for them, like I have in the little tent, at the epense of them being 5-6" higher. The 7 gallon tubs are hard to find anyways. When I move the bags to tend, I find worms breeding under the bags, with baby worms. I try to toss them back in the pots, mud and all.
They all got a bunch of training by tying them down with string and safety pins stuck in the bags, and a fan leaf haircut. That was after these pics, which are the before view. I have to keep them short, so they are getting wider. Sunlight kicks my LED's ass for this stage of growth IMO.
I will SCROG net these ,and I think 4 plants may be too big for a 4 x 4 tent, but we'll see. Which ones come inside? I have 2 of the ak47 flowering now, but grew this one to see the difference between the two ways I treated the plants (control) in the different runs. Maybe I can give away the 2 smaller plants. They make a nice couple.
Strawberry Banana on the far left, AK47 next to it.
Strawberry Banana #2 (remember that one) and Lemon Bubba on the right next to it. LB has finally gotten over the LED blues it had, and the leafs are acting right now. Yeah, it's a hashplant.
Here is the Humbolt OG. Awful wispy Kush IMO, but we'll see. This plant is going to have a ton of bud sites. I have it way tied down now.
They got pond water, more tying down, and drain spiders and pans. The leafs were sprayed with Purecrop1.
These need to come inside soon, because the heat is coming. Sun sure beats LED for this stage of growth IMO.
From left to right... HOG, SB, AK47, SB2, LB. The current plan is to flower the 3 amigos in the small tent, and give the two make up plants to a friend. He has to set up his 2 x 4 first.
Yeah, LB sure likes the sunshine. The leaves have stopped the funky texture they had. It has two main branches from only being FIMed one time (removal of the palm tree), and those are pulled down with strings, to keep the plant hidden. Huge leaves. I'll water them again today and see how they are doing.
If my buddy gets his tent up, those two little plants are going away. The three amigos need to come inside, or those bushes are gonna get me busted.
Edit: So this afternoon they were very thirsty. AK47 was showing brown leaves, and all were hot. I should have seen this coming. They took 1 gallon 2 days ago in the 10gallon pots, but I also put them on drainage spiders. Those allow air to hit the bottom of the bag, and today they were a lot dryer than I and they like. They took 2 gallons each. They should have been on perlite in pans.
I am bringing the 3 amigos inside tomorrow. The AK47 has started autoflowering, and maybe the other two also. There will only be 3 plants in the tent, and it will be crowded.
Over the weekend I was able to clear out a tent, and the plants have come back inside. That is except Lemon Bubba, which is showing Deep Chunk pheno, and got chunked. It went somewhere else with a plant left over from the other tent. Sorry VG, but the fool will probably kill it. These plants take all the room I have..
So the plants are at 12/12 now. They have until the end of July to work their magic. I need to make an automated SIP for this tent, to make watering easy. It's gonna be a jungle in there. The AK47 and HOG were starting to flower outside (autoflower). Plus it is really hot, and AK was showing dry soil stress.
Strawberry Banana - bottom left, HOG - bottom right, SB2 top left, AK47 - top right.
I think I can declare flowering on SB, and maybe on SB2.
SB
SB2, 2 weeks behind SB and the other 2.
The SBs are on the left side of the tent, SB in front cause it will finish faster than SB2 behind it..
These plants did their stretching under sunlight at around 14 hr daylight, and the two on the right were autoflowering, I suppose, cause they were starting to flower out in the sun.
No hurry, these have until the end of July. They are really bushy. The AK47 in the back was burned a tad being outside in the dry weather, but it is fine now.
I added more soil and top dress, fortified with plenty of goodness, scratched in more cover crop, and watered it all in real good with a tea I steeped for a day. Probably kill 'em.
The SBs on the left are tall plants. The front one is 36" now, my record so far. The AK47 at the right rear is the runt of the tent. HOG in the right front is pretty big also.
The Reserva Privada Strawberry Banana are stretchy plants. Thirsty too. When I topwater fed them some stinky slop the other day, the top fan leaves started praying bigtime. SB2 is really stretchy, and is making 5 segment leaves. SB has 7 fingers.
The SB sisters. SB2 in back.
SB's stem:
HOG is gonna make some nice flowers I think. The control AK47 (compare to last run) had some heat/dry distress outside, and has had issues since, and is the smallest plant now. Still, all of the 3 amigos are fine, and the make-up SB2 is right in there with them size wise.
HOG
Little runt SB2 was pathetic, and now is a proud teenage girl growing strong and tall. Her big sister SB has some strawberry coming out, which I seek.
Let's see how they look at week 3... Things are going along in autopilot, drinking heavily (especially the SBs), and just chuging long. I have been adding a pretty good amount of cal-mag plus to their water, and they look better for it.
Little SB left rear, the make up plant to add a 4th to the 3 amigos, is the tallest girl in the tent now. Not as thick with the buds as her big sister in front of her, yet.
Big sister SB is making flowers.
So are the AK47 in back, and especially the HOG in front.
When I separate the branches, I don't really see much good stuff to cut out down in there. The plants seems to be using the leaves they have. The HOG is a pure bush with bud sites all over, like those Romulans. I do get a handful of leaves cut off each time, but not really trying to SCROG or just have tops. I think when it comes time to harvest the top colas, I will do only that, and leave the lower stuff a while longer. I got quite a while longer on the Runtz remains.
The run is just chugging long. Strawberry sisters in back are what I can't wait for. If I can get these as good tasting as my farmer buddy did, it will be a happy fall.
A flower on SB2 (left rear, was such a little runt)
Edit added:
Her sister SB was popped 2 weeks earlier, but flipped the same time. They are on week 5 now.
