It appears everytime, even after closing it or turn off the translation, but only on the first page. Never got it on any other page.

From what I read about their translation feature, it doesn't record anything. And I did a test to see if it would index pages in its search engine that aren't linked anywhere on the web, but have this google translation feature on it, and they never got indexed. So this shouldn't be a problem for anyone. The google feature even allows ssh (secure) connections, which another translator from yahoo couldn't handle.

looks like the user would have to read english to choose their language now
chances are, they won't see it anyway being on the bottom of the column
translation goes on top
the native tongue can only be accomplished with an image since nobody has every possible language pack installed
there are about 11 major languages in the world
google does not translate about 300 native languages like Hawaiian, Hatian, Jamaican, etc, etc...
