ICMag Sun Harvest Cup - Information Thread

Thanks for visiting our ICMag Sun Harvest Cup 2022 information thread. In the coming days / weeks we’re going to be updating this (and other) threads with all the information you’ll need to take part in the Sun Harvest cup as a breeder, grower or judge.

The cup event itself will take place in Barcelona in the first week of December (final date to be confirmed) and will be managed on ICMag by @truecannabliss and myself. The cup will feature Breeder & Grower sections and will include the following categories: Short, Long & Auto Flowering (Indica, Sativa and Autos), Hash, Flower Rosin & Hash Rosin.

You can register your interest in being a participant or a judge by replying in this thread, via PM or via direct message on Instagram @international_cannagraphic. If you let us know you’re interested we’ll add you to our list and will be in touch when we have more information.

Like previous ICMag Cups all voting will be totally transparent with scores given by judges for entries in all categories fully open for everybody to see. An ICMag Cup win is a prestigious thing and we hope that by our voting being fully open it will carry even more weight because everybody knows our winners are legitimate.

As I’ve said, myself and @truecannabliss will be posting more information here in the coming days and weeks so click the watch button at the top of this thread to make sure you’re kept in the loop.

The combination of short notice and being a few weeks before Xmas means that in practical terms, this is really only open to large commercial growers. Most people can't drop hundreds to enter a competition just before Xmas. I've wanted to take part in a cup for years, but it's just never possible for anyone in my position. That's not to knock the idea, just wish something could be set up for smaller and personal growers too.

The cup is an outdoor sun grown competition featuring mostly small home growers in Barcelona and Spain, although it is late notice there are many outdoor growers here so they would not need to make any changes to their plans just choose their best plant to enter from their outdoor crop this year.
We hope this Sun Harvest Cup will become a strong yearly tradition and incorporate growers from other regions in coming years. These cups like the 420 build amazing friendships and community vibes that hold a strong place in many of our hearts so to have another is great and will be good preparation to make sure next year ICMag 420 Cup comes back with a bang and sees a ton of ICMag family coming together. If you want to enter cup I would start plan for 420 now if you don't have an outdoor crop for the Sun Harvest Cup.

Anyway, back to the cup theme, mine was just a "joke" ... I find it a bit difficult to participate, first because I know it will take a certain amount of weed and my plants will produce little, second because I am a cook and december is the time i work the most, i would be honored coming from 2009 i joined icmag i would like to attend a cup or just meet the international growers and boss @Gypsy Nirvana , but never say never sooner or later the time will come, meanwhile, thanks for the reply @truecannabliss
