ya i cared more about the info on OG then anything else really. the grow faqs and the strain guide was the most helpful thing on OG

I agree, that was the only reason i went over there. To dig through the strain guid for info and read reports on strains. It will be missed. Let's hope we get something here.

I do computer programming for a living... and have many friends to do so. But I have no idea of the inner workings of this site so it would be impossible for me to code anything.. I may do something up in php and mysql if I get a chance in the near future. doesn't really seem like it would be all that complicated. Another simpler method would be to have a moderated forum that users take a generic form, fill it out , copy and paste it into their post. A thread for each strain, any non-strain guide threads get nuked. That way it would be searchable.. hmmm brain churning.. head hurts .. must smoke bowl...

i agree also, lets hope we can get something going, it's up to us to take over and make the best strainguide in the world!! we can do it we just need something or someone to get it started.

takes a boatload n a half of programming to do the database n entry system for a strainguide, nevermind the gra[hical front end... however a mcgyver easy way would be an entire subforum devoted to it with sections for alphabetical organizing (A-C, D-F, etc) with breeder sections in those and Private and Unknown also, with threads for each strain in there. have a "pre-formatted" reply for people to post their reviews.

yeah this could be made in under an hour, and easily relies on user entries an maybe just a little organization from a mod.

an easier way could be to just make a forum like jgg said but instead of the search you could just add the seed co/breeders and have a sub forum for each and then in the sub forums have people write grow reports and have them do it in a format laid out for them.

There already have one. They've been working on it for sometime and i've heard it looks awesome. I think smokey and others where working on it. I'll dig up the link and link it here. I post yesterday or today asking about it and no status report. Let me find some info. It was suppost to have Seed Co. strains and small breeder's if i'm correct.

Thats right BG there was one in the making but for some reason unknown its been held off and held off to the point where it hasnt happened so who knows your guess is as good as mine
And yeh the layout kicks ass lets hope they do eventualy get it up and running..though i havent seen Green Lantern about for ages...peace
