If you did make a strain guide.... could u plz make a spot for grower experience. Its hard to gauge how good a strain is when some1 new says its very potent and a vet says its schwag. Peace.
that would be a nice addition, i could normally tell by their set up and pics how much experience they had.
a new strainguide would be great, the old version from OG doesn't have alot of the newer strains that are out, lost the pics, and no new editions can be added. it would be great for sales, and great for the costumer, seems like a win win situation.

Coding a strain guide is about 75 hours at $40 an hour. There is nothing 'out of the box' you can start with you're basicly starting with a blank page of code. The strain guide at weedbay is converterted from another module, the benefit of this is it will render the page in .2 seconds even if there are a million strains to sort.
While you can easily code a guide that links into VBulletin making a vbulletin plug in is inherently harder.

Hmm, does sound like it would be kind of complicated. But some of the bored stoners on this board can start by rounding up threads of grows and sort them out by strain. It's a start.

whats so hard about making a strainguide? i would think that you would need to make sometype of page where people can enter a grow/smoke report of the strain and have it get stored in a database and have people beable to view them in a proper webpage format of some sort. i dont know really to much about it but doesnt seem that hard to me if you know how to code.

lol i put no up there because when this discussion came up in the past some people said that ICMAG don't need a strainguide and didn't want to have to try to be like OG. but in reality it has nothing to do with OG, the simple fact is strainguides rule and we should be able to make a damn good one here at ICMAG.

i am a computer guy. im not into programing at all tho i brushed on it breifly but coding is annoying as hell so i never got into. its not hard but it is time consuming and if you dont like it then it can get really annoying and frustrating..... 1 typo and its not going to work.

There already have one. They've been working on it for sometime and i've heard it looks awesome. I think smokey and others where working on it. I'll dig up the link and link it here. I post yesterday or today asking about it and no status report. Let me find some info. It was suppost to have Seed Co. strains and small breeder's if i'm correct.

I was going to vote no just because I figured no one else would. lol But I couldn't do it. Never cared for OG but I still have the strain guide saved. It kicked ass, thats what IC needs.

ya i cared more about the info on OG then anything else really. the grow faqs and the strain guide was the most helpful thing on OG
